I open the door of the family car, run across the street quickly, sitting on the stupid side and getting off the road, and stay on the sidewalk first. Josie turns off all the important equipment and gets out as well, while Kaitlyn picks up our backpacks from the backseat. I take mine from her and put him on the back.
"I go to my friends," I say quickly, before one of my sisters can rebel against it or come up with the idea of doing something with me at school.
In principle, I have nothing against my siblings, but at school we do not necessarily have to spend a lot of time together. Even if Josie is my twin, everyone needs their own friends. Anyway, I see it that way.
Kaitlyn just growls and nods disinterestedly. I roll my eyes. Although she is my sister, I can not really relate to her.
Josie gets better and somehow, and often, just like her, I just want to be able to focus on people. She always looks so easy with her and almost everyone seems to like her right away. I'm having a hard time with many people.
My twin pokes me in the side with her elbow, but says nothing more. I also know what she wants from me. "Bye", I try to leave, but someone holds me tight.
Confused, I drive around. I would not have expected that. That it can only be Josie, however, is clear. "Are we having lunch together?", She sounds cautious. Now she knows that I have my own life and my own friends in school, as well as she does, while she also likes to do something with the family.
But that's probably because we three are connected in a very special way. We share something with each other that does not connect us to anyone else and that's not just our blood.
"Let's see", I would rather not make a firm decision. This time I'm really going. As a farewell I wave but still before I go to the schoolyard.
Some students walk past me. I know a few of them, but I do not know the name of others, but I have seen their faces while others are completely unknown to me.
The last group includes two blond girls, maybe sisters. The older woman stumbles through the entrance gate. She could be at my age and therefore at the same level as me. But she seems so disoriented that she either has a disorientation or is new. Or maybe both. You never know.
My gaze wanders over her quickly. It certainly does not fit in with my circle of friends. Although the others are blond too, that does not mean anything. To belong to us, you have to have a certain style. Or something that could be described as taste.
"Lizzie?", My friend's voice sounds behind me. I ask her, grinning. Although we saw each other yesterday, but she just my best friend and you can not see enough.
"Peyton", I quickly run to her and embrace said girl in her arms. "How are you?" She asks me. Immediately I start to laugh. "We saw each other yesterday," I remind her. "You did not answer my question, sweetheart," she says, smoothing my tips slowly. I playfully roll my eyes: "Of course I'm fine!" "I'm glad," she smiles happily at me.
What's up with her today? Otherwise she is never in such a good mood. Her behavior totally takes me by surprise. "Pey, what's wrong? Anyone who mixed something in the food?", I pinch my eyes examining. "No, of course not," she c****d her head and looked at me reproachfully: "Reggie was still with me yesterday and we have ..."
Right now we are interrupted by the said guy. "You're talking about me?", He puts an arm around both of his girlfriend and me. The tall boy has styled his black hair back with a lot of hair gel. He wears a white T-shirt with black writing, as well as black pants and a pair of Nike Air Max 270 in black. "Quite," she grins. "Good morning darling," he gives his girlfriend a gentle kiss on the forehead. I notice immediately that something is different between them. Something is in the air. "Good morning," she replies, clinging gently against him.
Her smile is lovely, but she also has a certain trait that I can not fully classify. "Is there something I should know?" I raise my two blond eyebrows. Peyton leans over to me and whispers, "I'll tell you later."
"Okay," I reply, "Has anyone seen Addy or Chloe? We'll have a few more minutes before the first hour begins." When I say 'Chloe', Reggie snorts annoyed. Why Reggie does not like her, I really do not know, but still she belongs to our group. Just because Reggie does not like her, it does not have to be the same for us others and it's important to me. Without the girl with the French roots, our little circle would not be half as good.
Peyton tries to look angry, but something affectionate remains. "I think I saw her somewhere at the entrance," Peyton explains thoughtfully, almost looking like she's looking in her memories like a file folder.
"Thanks, then I'll go looking for them", I try with all my strength over the heads of the others to see if my girlfriends are really there, where Peyton said: "Do you want to come or first stay here?" I give her a perverted look and wiggle her eyebrows. She gives me the same look: "Go ahead." Grinning, I move away from the two. The two are really great together, although they had a difficult start. They are the perfect example of how two people who love each other can find each other, even if not everything is perfect in the beginning.
