As much as he wanted to speed through it, and as easy as the book was to read, Gary ended up taking his time with the work. Passages caught his interest so that he read them over. Other times, the book gave him so much to think about he had to set the work aside. More than once, Phillip’s story made Gary restless and he caught himself pacing. He was on the last chapter when he looked up as the sound of a familiar voice on the news caught his attention. The news item included snippets of the very public hearings held for the Leveson inquiry. The inquiry itself had been established under the 2005 Inquiries Act to look into the ‘culture, practices, and ethics of the press’.
