Annalise's POV
In the shadowy encasement of the cave, my mother and Dimitri walked over to where I stood with Stefan and the twins. Rosalie and Orion now stood to the far end with Killian and Alexis, who was now freed from the spell that was bound by the Darkini witch. Dimitri stepped forward and then dropped to his knees, his head bent deep. "Please forgive me, Annalise. I was blinded by my own need to protect my family that I believed all the lies that Mondel fed me. My inability to see through his lies cost me the value of a cherished childhood friendship. And Kara--" His words broke off as his body shook with silent sobs.
