Chapter 19 – New Year’s Resolutions“Welcome back, children,” Mrs. Lark says. “Did everyone have a wonderful Christmas vacation?”
“No,” everybody yells. Before Mrs. Lark came into the room, Blew told us to say we had a lousy vacation if she asked.
“My goodness, children. That’s not the answer I expected. Who wants to tell me why you didn’t have fun during your two weeks off?”
“I’ll tell you why,” Blew says. “Because Santa didn’t bring me the horse I ordered. Mr. Sims has a nice Arabian for sale, and I wanted it and I wrote to Santa and he ignored my list. I didn’t get the horse or the saddle or real cowboy boots or anythin’ that was on my list.”
“Maybe next year,” Mrs. Lark says. Larry raises his hand. “Yes, Larry. What was wrong with your vacation?
