Chapter 22 – Valentines in the Silo“Did everyone remember to bring an empty oatmeal box for their valentines?” our art teacher, Mrs. Little, asks. “Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day and your boxes must be ready. Mr. Quaker will be hidden underneath red construction paper, but I don’t think he’ll mind. Raise your hand if you brought him in.”
Everyone raises their hand except Flint, Blew, and Squeaky.
“Why did you boys forget to bring in Mr. Quaker?”
“We don’t eat oatmeal,” Flint says.
“Neither do we,” Blew lies.
“Same here,” agrees Squeaky.
Mrs. Little never yells at us, but she doesn’t look very happy as she hears the boys’ excuses. “Stephono, your sister brought in Mr. Quaker. You can put your valentines in with hers. Blew, you can share with Larry,
