Chapter 27 – Larry’s Birthday PartyCaptain’s takin’ us to Bay Mills for Larry’s birthday party. Our next stop is Candy’s. “Run faster,” I yell. “Captain’s revvin’ the motor. We’re gonna leave you if you don’t step on it.”
“Blew, stop teasing her,” Daisy says. “She’s running as fast as she can.”
“Take my hand,” Flint offers. “I’ll pull you up.”
“Take my hand,” I say, but Candy already has both her hands in Flint’s as he pulls her onto the truck’s bed.
“Thanks, Blew,” but Flint’s hands were the first ones I saw. What’s the hurry? I thought we had plenty of time before the party.”
