It was a wolf, the largest he had ever seen and it was coming straight towards him. He wanted to start shouting and running but he couldn't move from the spot he was staying. The wolf approached him, its red eyes glowing in the darkness. Derek's heart was pounding so much.Suddenly, a ray of light came from Derek's back. Derek noticed the light and saw it as an opportunity for him to escape. He started shouting so that whosoever was coming would know the direction he was. The wolf howled and started running at Derek. When Derek saw that the wolf was coming at him, he started running towards the direction of the light. He kept running until he saw the person who flashed the light. The person was Alison. She remembered that night to be the full moon. So she came to check on Derek, but she didn't find him at home. So she came to check the woods. Derek thanked her for coming at the right time. He tried to show her the wolf chasing him but the wolf was nowhere to be found. He tried explaining all that happened to him but she didn't seem to understand him because she couldn't see the wolf he was referring to.“Let's head back home, I don't seem to understand what you are saying.” She said Derek looked at her trying to see if she was really serious about her not understanding him.“It seems you are stressed,” Alison said, trying to pity him. Derek answered her, “I'm not stressed, I know what I'm doing.” When they got home, Alison stayed with Derek because of the way he was behaving. She cooked for him and made him rest. She stayed with him till he slept off. After he slept off, she also drifted off to sleep. She had this dangerous dream that woke her up covered in beads of sweat. The dream she had was that the wolf was chasing her and no one was there to help her. While she was running, she saw a strange stone. She couldn't make sense of the symbols because the strange stone was glowing. She woke up with beads of sweat all over her body. When she woke up, no one was around in the house, everyone had gone out. She has her bath and decides to go into the woods to look for the strange stone she saw in her dream. The more the strange stone came to her head, the more curious she became. She began walking through the forest, going deeper and deeper into the woods until she came to a clear place where she found the stone. The same place she found it in her dream. As she walked towards it, she felt a surge of darkness coming from it. Something wasn't right. The stone was shining, but a dark energy was emanating from it. Her body began to shiver. Alison hesitated, not sure of what to do. Suddenly she heard a voice from nowhere, she looked around to be sure if she was the only one there. The voice spoke again, whispering in her ear.“Touch the stone,” it said. Alison felt a surge of fear, she tried resisting the pull of the stone. She ran back home and waited for Derek to come back from where he had gone.Derek came back in the evening, so she explained what she saw in her dream to him and how she went to look for it when she woke up.Derek told her to take him there. She told him she couldn't follow him, so she described the way for him and he left the house looking for the strange stone. When he got to the place she described, he could see the stone shining from afar. He started approaching it and he could also feel the dark energy emanating from it.He wasn't afraid when he got closer to it. He reached out and touched it, and a jolt of power ran through his body. He was filled with a sense of power and confidence that he had never felt before all of a sudden. He felt unseen, and he knew he couldn't do anything again.Derek started feeling uneasy. He heard a voice whispering in his ear, “Now use the power,” it said. “Make the town fear you.” Derek hesitated, but he felt the power of the stone well up inside him. He already knows what to do but he doesn't want to spoil his city, not to talk of making the people sad but he has no choice but to obey what the voice says. The next morning, the people of Oakwood woke up to find their crops in the field withered and dead. The rivers in the city had dried up, and all the animals in the forest had fled. The townspeople were afraid and confused. All of them gathered in the town square, wondering what would have happened for this to occur. Derek and Alison were also there with them, he was feeling bad because he knew it was the work of his hand. The people couldn't conclude because they didn't know how it happened. The town of Oakwood continued to struggle. The people were in high spirits, and they had learned to always trust their inner peace. But even though they were doing well, they still wondered about the root of the curse. They wanted to know where it came from, and why it had been lifted. And so, they started searching for answers and solutions. They talked to old scholars and consulted Marco, the healer in the city. They searched through all hidden places and archives, looking for any solutions. But no matter where they looked, they couldn't find clues. They began to feel sad, and they were already giving up. But then, one day, they found a strange book. It was hidden away in a dusty corner of an ancient library. But when they opened it, the thing they found there made them surprised. There were pages and pages of strange symbols and runes in the book. They couldn't figure out what was written there, but they knew that it must be something important. And so, they showed the book to a sage, an old woman who was known for her wisdom.
