FAMILY OR ENEMY???

Episode 3

*******The next morning*****

*******Mike's house**********

She woke up to the sound of the creak of the door,,and for a split second,,,she looked perplexed,,"where was she??" She thought,,almost immediately she caught sight of Mike and smiled,,,the whole drama of the previous night came rushing back to her,,,,she came down from the bed to meet him,,he gestured for her to sit down,,,"Don't worry" He said,,I came to bring breakfast to u on bed,,,just then she noticed the golden rimmed tray on his hands,,,inside it was a full English breakfast,,she gasped,,,"How can u make a full English breakfast " when I can only struggle take a proper tea" She said,,he smiled,,"I didnt I ordered it"

Didn't know ur preference,, so I decided to go with the full English breakfast" He said casually and sat beside her,,,he kept the tray beside the bed side table,,,she sighed!! This man was just too good to her,,and it wasn't right that she was keeping secrets from him,,and dragging him into her mess

"About yesterday ni,,,,,,," He immediately placed a finger on her lips

"I don't want you to talk abt what happened yesterday night,,,I did a lot of thinking yesterday night,,and I want you to heal from the shock,,,be sure u are in a safe environment,,and be there for you,,then whenever you are emotionally balanced to tell me everything,,I will be there to listen to it all" she looked up gratefully at him,,,How did she get soo lucky to meet such a man,,,he seemed to good and understanding to be true

"I'll be off to the hospital,,,calle if u need anything " He said and strode off

She spent the most of the afternoon trying to reach Clara,, Clara was the private detective she had hired 6months agao when the said threat had appeared on her door,,she hadn't gotten any leads yet,,,but she needed to update her about what was happening,,,

" Hi Clara" it's me Betty,,she said over the phone

"Yeah I know,,came the soft feminine voice,,,,she have often wondered why Clara decided to be a private detective,,she seemed to softly feminine and gently to be in such a profession,,,she had doubted her on handling the job,,but the Johnny her childhood friend,,had assured her that,,Clara was one of the best detective in town

"The threat came again" there was total silence at the other end

"Can u hear me Clara,,I said the Threat was written at my door again" I can hear you,, Clara said softly,,,but I don't know if I should let u know,,I've got a lead

Betty's heart jumped in excitement,,,"Tell me.about it" She said excitedly

"I'll have to come meet up with you,,to give you the details"

"Ok" Betty said,,quickly reciting her address to her

In two hours Clara was in the house,,,she held two big brown envelops and dropped it on the table next to Betty,,immediately she sat down

"Please go through this" she said Concerningdly

Betty looked at her and saw the worried look on her face

"Is everything OK??" She asked Clara

Clara only gestured for her to open the envelope

She did and her mouth,,,,opened wide in shock

In the envelop,,were pictures of Martins and her so called Aunt ,,,The woman she called Mother and took like a Mother

Then she saw other pictures of Her Aunt's daughter Priscillia,,and Martins

Fr every indication it showed that Martins was married to her Aunt's daughter,,she became confused,,,"No this cannot be true" she said ,,it must be a set up,,,something is definitely wrong somewhere,,she said in disbelieve,,"Martins is dead,,,I saw him die,,I saw him take his last breathe

"And what does all this have to do with my aunt and her daughter" she said facing Clara

" I believe it jas everything to do with your aunt and her daughter "Clara said

As a matter of fact I had kept a tag on your house,, since that last incident,,,six month ago

I managed to have a cctv cam positioned to watch ur front door

After u called me I took a quick look at the Cctv cam,,to check for any recent activity,,and I saw a feminine figure dress in a disguised hood ,,,making those words on your front door,,with a brush from a red paint plastic,,,,,,

"I Suspect your aunt and her daughter are up to no good" Betty looked at her in shock

I know how much u trust and love them,,but we need to put sentiments aside and think this through,,,,can u think of anything or scenario to link them to all of this happenings?" Betty shook her head,,as far as she was concerned,,she was the only family she knew and she trusted them with everything,,,"Are u sure of all this" Betty said,,,but then her eyes fell on the pictures,,she stood up walked to the window and breathed in the fragrance from the orange tree close to the window,,she really needed something to keep her sane

"So what do I do?" She said facing Clara

"Have u told te about your current location,,or about what happened last night?" "No I havent" Betty said,,infact she would have ,,she always did,,but he tension between her and Mike made her forget about every other tin,,,

"Good!!" Clara said heaving a sigh of relieve

"Do not let them know where you re"

"You will call them and recount the experience of yesterday night" then we can take it from there

Betty nodded and brought our her phone,,she dialled her Aunt's number

"Hello sweetheart " came the cheery and familiar voice of her aunt,,,she was used to,,,she felt a heaviness in her heart,,and held her mouth from crying out

"sweetheart are you there??" Came the voice again

"Yes I am" She said struggling to gain her composure

"Are u fine baby,,,u can talk to me" her Aunt's said seemingly sounding concerned

"I am,,,,only had athe same experience yesterday night again"

Silence fell,,,after a moment she held her Aunt's voice "where are you now" Clara signalled her ,,to tell her she was out of town

"I'm out of town,,I just wanted to let u know what was going on" She said

"Baby everything will be alright her aunt said"

"Thank u soo much" Betty said struggling to keep herself from breaking out in tears,,this was the only woman she knew as a mother,,as she lost her parent's in a fire accident when she was small,,and she was he only survivor,,her parents where a lovely couple and she was the only child they had then before he ugly incident,,this woman brought her up like her child,,and she and Priscillia grew up like sisters

How could she start to distrust the very people she only had as family

She sighed

L,,she had made up her mind,,she was very much ready now to tell Mike about everything,,she didn't want to drag him anymore into her mess,,even if he broke up with her,,, she was ready to take the risk

She thanked Clara and promised to keep her updated about anytin and working with her to bring out the truth to light

Clara left,,,and she sat down,,lost in her thoughts,,all she could do was wait for Mike to

come back home.........
