REVISTING THE PAST!!

She heard he honk of his car and jumped up startled,,after Clara left,,she had fallen asleep on the couch,,,just as she made to open the door,,he opened it almost immediately,,,"What's wrong babe" he said Concerningdly,,,noticing her tired face

"Nothing i'm ok,, just tired that's all" she said he looked around ,,,and his eyes fell on the brown envelope on the table , she wasnt sure what her was looking for?? "Are u looking for something " she said "No" he said "but what is that " he siad pointing at the brown envelope

"I'll tell you about it later,,but u need to freshen up first,,while i fix something for u to eat" he smiled "thanks" he said and headed to his room

As she prepared his dinner,,,her mind was unsettled,,if she told him everything,,how would he view her,,she thought,,"would he still want to be with her?? Her world was trying to finally starting to make sense with this man in her life,,what if she messes up things,,by telling him about her past,,she shook her head in confusion ,,,"No i have to do the right thing" she said ,,

"He has being too good to me,,and deserves to know the truth" she said,, "what truth??" He asked coming up from behind her and taking from the fried chicken she was making

She turned round startled "I was just talking to myself"

"Can i help u with anything" he said purposely trying not to push the topic,,,if there was one thing he has gotten to find out about her,,was that,,,she never fully explain things

"No dear" she replied "I can see hat you've freshened up,,Please go the sitting room while i complete fixing dinner" he tap her shoulders reassuredly and made his way to he sitting room

She made dinner,,,cleaned up,,served him his meal,,and went to the room to freshen up

When she came out,,she met him seated in the couch watching a netflix movie,,she sat bedside him,,and he placed his arm around her,,she smiled,,inhaling his fragrance,,she felt warm and safe,,and wished things would continue being this good between them

Almost immediately she left off,,,she woke up amd saw him nestled up with her in the couch sleeping,,,she sighed she had planned to tell him everything today,,but it seemed as if she wouldnt be able to,,just as she stood up,,he help her hand startling her,,,,,"Stay here with me" he said,,and she almost laughed at the childish demeanour he showed

"Ok" she said sitting beside him,,he sat up,,,,," you talked most parr of your sleep" "Who's Martins" he said,,giving her a serious look

She looked away,,,"What had she said in her sleep" she thought "What did she give away"

,,,she felt the tears forming in her eyes,,,he turnedbher face towards him,,,and wih so much concern spoke to her,,"Are u seeing someone else??,is that why u dont wanna open up tor,,is that why u feel so withdrawn with me?" She shook her head vehemently and could feel the tears dropping "No i am not seeing anyone else,,Martins is in my past" he nodded "Perhaps he was her first love" he thought

She stoood up,,walked toward the window,,facong the orange tree,,and inhaled its Fragrance,,perhaps she could draw strength from it

" I was twelve years old when the incident happened" she began,,,she could feel the tears swelling up again,,and shuffled up the urge to cry out aloud,,she had tried to keep the incident,,where all her troubles began,,,buried deep within her,,but she had to start from there,,if she was going to tell him everything,,he came up behind her,,and placed a reassuring hands on her shoulder,,,encouraging her to go on,,,she felt grateful for the gesture and continued

" I woke up to the smell of thick smoke,,,,I still felt very sleepy,,so i was confused if i was dreaming or if it was real,,, just then i saw my father grab me with such urgency,, the sleep fell out my eyes,,and then i realized that it was all real and that we were being choked up in th house,,, he pushed me out the house,,"I need to find ur mother,,stay in the laundary room and wait for us",,he said,,i nodded and went to the laundary room,,we had a laundary room outside the house,,my mother always said she preferred the room being stationed outside ,,cause it gave her time to concentrate on the laudary work and clear her mind,,how she found such work therapeutic had always got me confused

I entered and room,,looke dat the washing machines,,not sure what to do,,i sat down and waitied for my parents to come,,,,,,,Betty paused went to the couch,,sat down and he could see the tears she had being holding,,,streaming down her face,,,,she had being through alot,,no wonder she seemed withdrawn

"They never came" I sat down there till morning,,,questioning myself all the while,,if i should go out and look for my parents or listen to my fathers instruction and wait for them,,,when morning finally came ,i felt i jad waited enough and ran towards our building,,what i saw left me gasping for breathe,,my parent's burnt body were place on the entrance of the house,,I screamed and fainted,,I woke up to see myself on a hospital bed,,,"where are my parent" i screamed still in shock,,,,,,"Calm down,you'll be fine,,I'll take care of you" that was when i noticed her,,the Lady sitting by my bed side,,,sh was middle aged and putting on expensive jewellery,,"who was she??,,I had never seen her before,,,"I'm your aunt,,your dad's elder sister" I looked at her still confused,,who was this aunty i had never seen,,,not even in family pictures,,an aunty my father never spoke about,,,,as if she read my thoughts,,she brought out some pictures,,gave them to me,,,and gestured for me to go through them ,,I did and was shocked to see pictures of my dad,,while growing up,,,there were pictures of she,,my dad and my grandparents,,,They environment showed they were a wealthy family,,,how was i just finding about all this,,my father said he had cut ties with his family and never talked or mentioned anything about his parents or sister

"Where are my grand parents" They are late,,she said she pushed me into a warmth embrace and started crying,,Joshua was the only family i had left,,and now he's gone,,,"Joshua" that was my dad's name,,,i hugged her back and we both cried out our hearts,,,it felt like a huge relieve to her to have at least a family member to share in her pain,,she didnt know what the future held for her from henceforth,,but she was willing to take it one step at a time,,,she had lived a sheltered life as an only child with her parents,,but it seemed as if that was now going to be a thing of the past for her,,it felt strange and scary to her,,everything seemed to be happening at once,,her parent's death and the reappearance of her aunt,,,,

she followed her home and was introduced to her daughter Priscillia who was the same age with her,,she looked at the young girl smiling at her and sighed,,she had always wished to have a sibling,,,could this be a blessing or a curse??,,
