And so my aunt took me to her house from the hospital,,and that's how i started staying with her,,she lived with her daughter ( Priscillia,,her only child),,,her husband was late,,For the next one month I lived under her kindness,Priscillia and I became close as sisters,,and i gradually began to regain my sanity,,,,,,then one morning she called me to the coffee room,,,,I was suprised,,cause always wanted to be left alone in the cofee room,,to clear her head,,as she always made sure to remind me and Priscillia ,,,

"Aunt,,is there a problem?" I asked out of concern,,,she shook her head "I need to talk

Martha stared blankly at the ceiling,,,, Betty had left town,,because of the last scenerio,,she felt a bit guilt nudge at her,,but she brushed it away,,,,,,she had waited twenty one good years to have her motions set away,,,,,She had being the only daughter of a family,,,who favoured their favourite and only son "Joshua" he has being given prefential treatments over her,,and she dested him for that,,,when it was time for him to be admitted into the university,,he has being taken to one of the credible university situated outside their state,,while in her turn she was forced to go to a university close to her parents house,,and made to go to attend lectures from home,,still she had done everything to win her parent's trust and gain their favour,,now that Joshua was out of the house ,,and schooling in another state,,but all her efforts seem to prove futile,,she detested Joshua her brother the more......

As if the heavens were fighting for her,,her brother went into logger heads with her parents,,,he fell inlove with a girl from a poor family,who came from the state his school was situauted at,,,but to his utmost displeasure his parents kicked against it,,,,but when he graduated,,,he still insisted on marrying her,,,she could remember that day clearly,,,,he had brought her to meet his parents,one on one,,,she looked very timid,,neatly dressed,,,but classless nevertheless,,,,,Martha snorted,,,this was going to be a good show for her

"Meet Jennifer,,my fiance" Joshua had said drawing Jennifer protectively towards him,, he could sense how tense she was,,,and gave her a reaasuting smile,,,,

His mother weighed her full figure with her eyes shook her head,,and turned to his father,,,"should i set table for dinner?" She asked ignoring her son and his "fiancee",,,they have had this discussion over the years,,and they have being clear in letting him know their stand,,,(The only son of the noble "Kenneth family" the biggest business mogul of the state,,was never going to allow their son get married to a nobody,,who wasnt even from their state),,she had thought he had given up on the idea,,she had even tried to fix him up with some of her friends beautiful daughters over the years,,he had being polite with them,,even agreeing to go on dates with them,,but had not pushed further,,,,but here he was with the same "Jennifer" that thay battled over during the years,,,standing with all the aura of a peasant,,she walked to the kitchen,,,she was not ready to have this conversation with him

His father dropped his eyeglass,,rubbed his eyes ,,and scanned her with his eyes,,,"You truly have the nerve to bring in this hold digger to my house"he said dismissively ,,,Jennifer cringed and Joshua could feel the anger in him threatening to explode,,he clutch his fist,,,,his face burning red,,,,, "She is the woman i want to marry,,,,how can you say something like this to her" he flared up,,,,Jennifer thugged at him,,,silently pleading with her eyes,,she didnt want him fighting with his parents because of her,,he calmed himself

"I didnt say so to her,,I said so to you directly" hos father answered defiantly,,,"She is not welcome here,,,No son of mine ,will bring a nobody into my home,,and expect me to give him my blessings"

"Then I will be no son of yours" Joshua said defensively,,,,,Martha looked up at them from the book she was pretending to read,,meanwhile she enjoyed every bit of the drama,,playing in front of her,,,"did she hear well?" She thought "was Joshua actually willing to cut ties with her parents" she did a little victory dance in her mind,,she wished he really meant it,,then she will remain the only child.of her parents and inherit all of her parent's businesses and properties,,,she held herself from squealing up in joy

"Then I will be no so of yours anymore" Joshua said once again

"Then off you go,,and never come back,,,,do not believe you have a family,,,,You are dead to us,,his father said in a fit of rage

Joshua held on to Jennifer and stormed out the house,,and that was the last time she saw or heard from him,,,that was twenty one years ago

He kept true to his promise,,and stayed away from the family,,while she used the opportunity on ground to finally gain her parents trust and utmost love

After graduating,,she moved into the family business and helped her dad in running the businessess

Then ten years later she lost her parents to a plane crash,,she had adorned herself in black and black,,,walked straight from her parents burial recession,,,,to the office of her father's lawyer,,,hoping to finalize her parents will,,and be in total charge of all the business,,,but was shock to learn that her dad had willed qll the businesses and properties to her brother "Joshua" leaving only the family house to her,,,,,her mum had given her all her jewelleries,,but had named her brother as the next of kin to claim her insurance,,,she was in a firlt of rqge,,,all her life she had tried so hard to please her parents,,and this was what she got in return,,,she stormed out of the Lawyer's office,,got home tore her clothes to pieces,,went into the bathtub and cried her eyes out,,,,she could not remember how long she stayed in the bath tub crying in betrayal and feeling sorry for herself,,,but when she finaaly stopped crying,,all the self pity was resolved to anger and hate

She was going to get what she deserved no matter what,,,,,she had managed and laboured for the companies,,,and it was only right that she was

The next morning she went to the lawyer's office,,he was suprised to see her in his office so early in the day,,she had stormed off in a fit of anger yesterday without waiting for him to finish off the will

"Good morning Mr Ben" she said smil8ng as she sat down,,,he responded

"I came to read the whole will and know if there are any clauses to it" he nodded and handed over the will to her,,,she went through it,,,,and with a glow on her face read the part that said,,,"In the situation or circumstances,,where my son is no more living,,all of the things stated in this will,,will be automatically transferred toy daughter Martha" she clutched tightly to the will,,quickly made her way out of the office,,,and then her evil,plottings began,,,,,,

to you Betty,,and its very important" I nodded and sat beside her,,she smiled amd touched my face with affection,,,"You look just like your dad,,you constantly remind me of him" I smiled back

"Betty you need to remain hidden here,,yourr parent's death,,was not an accident,,but was orchestrated by the "Smith's Family" ,,,my jaw dropped open in suprise,,,"What did she mean?,,,"How could my parent be assassinated,,,everyone loved my parents,,,they were a Peaceful and kind couple,,they showed love to all and sundry,,how could anyone think of harming my parents??" So many thoughts kept racing through my head,,as i stared at my aunt in disbelief,,, "What do u mean aunt??" I managed to ask,,still in shock

"Yes the Smith family killed your parents,,and they will come after you too,,to kill you,,if you do not stay hidden" she sighed ,,,seeing my confused face,,,,,," your father was a business associate of Mr Smith,,,and discovered so.e secret about him,,in oher to silence him,,he planned my brother's death,,intending to finish him off with his family,,, don't t worry you will get to understand everything with time" she stood and up gave me a tap on the shoulder and left the room,,,,i stood transfixed in the middle of that room confused,,,still trying to process,,what she just told me,,"how did she know about all this,,,she was never a part of my family's life,,and if true,,,what was she doing to make sure that the people responsible for the death of parents paid for what thay did?"

I stepped out of the room,,saw her sitting on the porch,,,,stroking her cat,,,,"If what u said is true,,what are u doing to make sure my parents killer was brought to justice" I asked my face,,,,bright red from the anger fuming from me,,how could she have remained silent this past one month,,knowing that my parents were murdered,,"Calm down dearie,,I have a plan to bring them to justice,,,the Smith are a powerful family,,and can use their influence to kill the case,,,i have a plan to bring thwm to justice" I stormed to my room,,confused and in anger,,"Who were this "Smith Family" and how could i revenge my family i thought

My Aunt and I didnt speak about it anymore,,,,I had on my own part,,decided i would get revenge for my parents no matter what,,i didnt intend to let my aunt know about my plans,,I didnt want anyone to ruin it for me

I resumed school,,,and had to deal with making new friends,,,,,changing city so abruptly made me withdrawn and introverted,,,Priscillia who was age mate with me,,became the first friend i had in that city

She lifted her face up and continued her story

" I did an intensive research on the Smith Family,,,found everything I needed to know,,including all the information i needed to find out about their only son,,,"Martins" and so when he was back to the cou try i set a good trap for him to date him,,if i was going to take revenge on the Smith Family,,I was going to do it through their moat precious and only son "Martins",,,Betty's Mind went back to their first date

"You look really beautiful",Martins said for the umpteenth time,,and she felt exhausted by the compliments,,,,"Thank you" she said ,,smiling dryly at him

"My name is Cynthia,,,, I just moved i to the city,,i'm an I.T expert she said smiling at him,,,If she was going to make him believe her,,she had to look convincing to him

"How did your date go?" Her aunt asked ,,,she had had a wonderful time with Martins,,that she was constantly reminding herself to stay focused,,,and remember what her mission was,,,,,

He had dropped her infront of her ask,,,asking her if he could go in to meet her family,,she refused,,saying her aunt would be displeased by that,,but truthfully shedidnt want him to meet her aunt,,she had pecked her goodnight and driven off into the night

"Aunt,,how did u know ,,i went out in a date ?"she said,,,,sitting down tiredly on the couch,,,,, her aunt looked at her smiling,,,I was also a youngster like u remember??,,and besides u hardly dress fancy,,,when i saw u looking all fancied up this evening,,I knew that you were going to see someone special,,and again i saw the lovely car and dropped you off,,i managed to catch a glimpse of a handsome young man,,she said smiling heartily,,,You are just Ninteen still in university,,,but could pass for a twenty- three year old,,,I think you should focus more on your education,,,,

" I am aunt,,,i still have a year to finish up my studies,,,,he's just a friend nothing more",,,,

"I know aunt,",Betty said interrupting her,,,she ahd always being a bright student,,,she got admission i to the university at the age of sixteen,,and has being doing well academically,,,she wasnt going to give up her studies and start going after men,,,she had her other plans too,,and she couldn't mess that up either,,,The Smith Family had to pay for what they did seven years ago........
