Once Rejected Twice Shy

Chapter 3.

Alexa Pov

As I pushed the door open to the pack house, I immediately sensed that something was off. The usual hustle and bustle of pack life was conspicuously absent, and the air was thick with an eerie silence.

"Hello?" I called out tentatively, my heart starting to race. "Dad? Ryan?"

As I stepped further into the building, I saw my father and brother emerge from a nearby room, both looking tired and worn out.

"Alexa, what are you doing here?" my father asked, his voice hoarse.

"I came to check on you guys," I replied, my concern growing by the second. "What happened here? Where is everyone?"

My father and brother exchanged somber looks. I wondered what could have happened in her absence.

Finally, she sat down with her father and brother, and they started talking about what had happened in the pack. Alexa was shocked to learn that Alpha Chuck had broken the partnership between both packs and had even provoked Alpha Jacob of the Crescent Pack. She couldn't believe it, chuck was always arrogant but she never expected him to be so stupid.

"What happened then?"I asked, unable to contain my curiousity.

"Alpha Jacob declared war on Chuck's pack," her brother replied. "In response, Chuck asked both men and women of his pack fought for their lives while he ran away with his mate, leaving members of his pack behind."

I felt my heart sink as the gravity of the situation started to sink in.How could this be happening?

"I can't believe he would do that"I said, my voice shaking."What type of alpha would leave his pack behind.

"I know sis, we all feel the same way"

"Dad, what's going to happen now?" I asked, my voice trembling slightly.

My father sighed heavily before responding. "We lost a lot of good wolves today,and we're all doing what we can to pick up the pieces and move forward, but the blood moon pack is now merged with the crecent pack under Alpha Jacob

Ryan Pov

As I listened to my father recount the events that had transpired between Chuck's pack and the Crescent Pack,I couldn't help but feel a sense of anger and disappointment. I had known Chuck for a long time and had considered him a friend, but to hear that he had betrayed our pack was a complete betrayal of everything I stood for.

As I looked over at Alexa, I could see the pain and confusion in her eyes. He knew how much she had cared for Chuck and how much this news must be hurting her. I wanted to be there for her and support her through this difficult time, but I couldn't condone what Chuck had done.

Alexa Pov

"I'm sorry, I couldn't protect your mum", my father said.

"It's not your fault, I know you tried your best," I replied, giving him a hug.

"Prepare for training, first thing tomorrow morning " a voice said in her head.

"Who's that?"

"Hearing voices?" Ryan asked

"Yes"

"It's probably Jacob"

"Jacob?"I was confused, it was my first time hearing the name.

"Yes he is the new Alpha"

"Dad?" I exclaimed wondering what happened.

My father's facial expressions had taken a turn for the worst.

"He stepped down" Ryan gave me the answer I longed for.

"But why dad?"

"The clan needed a change, so I had to step down" he said sounding like he had no other choice."show Alexa to her room"

As I followed Ryan up the stairs. "Alexa, I need to warn you about Alpha Jacob," he said in a hushed tone. "He's a cruel and cold alpha, and he pays close attention to fighting capabilities. I've heard rumors that he's been pushing the pack to become more aggressive and confrontational."

Alexa's heart sank as she listened to her brother's words."Be careful around him,"he added.

The next day, she woke up late, knowing she would receive a scolding from the alpha. She hurriedly went to the training ground, she could feel the excitement and energy building up inside her as she prepared herself for the day ahead. As she made her way to the training ground, she saw many new faces, and she realized that the pack had grown even more significant in size.

Alexa Pov

As I walked into the training grounds, I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. I was late for practice, and I knew that Jacob, the pack leader, would not be happy with me. Jacob was known for his strict adherence to rules and discipline, and he never hesitated to call out anyone who was not up to par. I could already hear his booming voice as I approached the group of werewolves gathered around the practice area.

Alpha Jacob was already there waiting for her, he was a dark haired, grey eyes, pale skin handsome looking man

"Ah, finally, the lazy one decides to show up!" Jacob exclaimed as he caught sight of me. The other werewolves snickered, and I felt my face flush with embarrassment. I knew I had let the team down, and I was not looking forward to the scolding that was sure to come.

Jacob continued to taunt me, making sarcastic comments about my tardiness and lack of commitment. I could feel my frustration building, but I tried my best to keep my composure. I knew that getting into a fight with Jacob would only make things worse.

But then, something inside me snapped. I couldn't take it anymore. I had been working hard to improve my skills and become a valuable member of the pack, and I felt like Jacob's comments were unjustified.

"Enough, Jacob!" I shouted, surprising even myself. "I am sick of your constant belittling and mockery. I may have been late today, but at least I show up and put in the effort to improve. Unlike some other members of this pack, who think they can get by on their natural abilities alone."

Jacob's face turned red with anger, and I could feel the tension rising in the group. But I stood my ground, refusing to back down.

"You have no right to talk to me like that!" Jacob bellowed. "I am the pack leader, and you will show me respect!"

"Respect is earned, not given," I shot back. "And right now, you are not earning any from me. If you want me to respect you, you need to treat me and the other members of this pack with the same level of respect and fairness."

Jacob looked around, his face a mix of anger and disbelief. finally, he let out a deep sigh and said.,"I will treat you on the same level with the other members of the pack, if you can earn it"

"How exactly?," She asked in curiosity.

"You see that ring over there?" He asked, pointing towards the center of the training ground.

"Yes?"

"We would be going up there one on one?"

"With you?" Alexa exclaimed in shock.

"Afraid?" He asked with a smirk on his face.

"Not in a million years" Alexa replied with little doubt in her voice.

Alexa took a deep breath as she stepped into the ring, her eyes locked on Alpha Marvin, the imposing figure on the other side. She knew this was the moment she had been training for, the moment to prove herself as a fighter.

Alpha Jacob wasted no time in attacking, his punches coming in fast and hard. Alexa was taken aback at first, struggling to keep up with the barrage of blows. But she knew she couldn't give up, couldn't let herself be beaten.

With renewed determination, Alexa found her rhythm, dodging and weaving as she waited for her moment to strike. She could feel the sweat on her brow, the adrenaline pumping through her veins.

And then, finally, it happened. Alpha Jacob left himself open for just a moment, and Alexa seized her chance. With a swift motion, she landed a punch square on his jaw, sending him reeling backwards.

For a moment, the arena was silent as I watced Alpha Jacob stagger back, I could hardly believe what had just happened. I had managed to land a hit on the most fearsome fighter in the pack. My heart was racing, my fists still clenched in anticipation of the next move.

But Alpha Jacob wasn't down for long. He quickly regained his footing, a look of fury on his face. He charged at me again, his fists flying. I tried to keep up, dodging and blocking as best I could, but I could feel my energy draining fast.

It was then that I remembered something my trainer Chris had told me. "It's not always about strength or speed," he had said. "Sometimes, it's about strategy."

With that in mind, I changed my approach. Instead of trying to match Alpha Jacob strength, I focused on finding openings in his defense. I started to feint and fake, throwing him off balance and confusing his movements.

I had the win in my grasp. Alpha Jacob came at me faster and stronger, I managed to dodge every attack he threw at me not until I lost my footing. I saw his fist coming straight at me, unable to dodge I put up my hands to a block……I couldn't believe my eyes.
