Chapter 13: Impressions
Ava couldn't help but think about Ethan as she drove home from their dinner date. She had to admit, he was handsome. His black tuxedo fit him perfectly, accentuating his broad shoulders and chiseled jawline. His Rolex watch glittered in the light, and his smile was, well, cute. She couldn't help but notice the way he carried himself with confidence and poise. Everything about him screamed expensive.
She thought about their conversation, how they had talked about their families and their interests. She had been surprised by how much they had in common, despite their different backgrounds. And she had to admit, she had enjoyed his company. He was charming and witty, and he made her feel at ease.
But despite her observations, Ava didn't feel any romantic feelings towards Ethan. She was just acknowledging his physical attractiveness. She had no emotional connection with him, and she wasn't sure if she ever would.
As she pulled into her driveway, Ava's mind began to wander to their future together. What would their life be like as husband and wife? Would they have children? Would they be happy? She imagined them living in a beautiful house, with a big backyard and a loving family. She imagined them growing old together, holding hands and watching the sunset.
The next day, Ava's thoughts were interrupted by the arrival of a fashion designer from Mexico. The designer, Maria, was there to take Ava's measurements for her wedding dress. Ava was excited to try on the different designs and fabrics, and Maria was knowledgeable and helpful. After a few hours, Ava had chosen the perfect dress, and Maria had taken her measurements.
As Ava was getting ready for bed, her best friend, Amanda, called her on video call from Nigeria. They chatted for a while, catching up on each other's lives. Amanda was excited for Ava's upcoming wedding and asked her all about Ethan. Ava answered her questions, but she couldn't help feeling a little disconnected from the whole experience. She was going through the motions, but she wasn't really feeling it.
After the call, Ava went to bed, her mind racing with thoughts of the future. She couldn't help but wonder what Ethan was thinking, if he was feeling the same way. She hoped that they would find happiness together, despite the circumstances of their marriage.
The next day, Jack and Emily were discussing Ethan and Ava's upcoming wedding in their room. Emily was excited to be a part of it, and Jack was happy to see his friend happy.
"I'm so glad Ethan is getting married," Jack said, turning to Emily. "He deserves it."
"I know," Emily replied. "And I'm glad it's to Ava. She's a great person."
"Yeah, she is," Jack agreed. "And they look great together. I'm sure they'll be happy."
Emily nodded, smiling. "I'm sure they will. And I'm excited to be a part of it."
As they talked, Emily's hand instinctively went to her stomach. She was pregnant, and she couldn't wait to meet her baby.
"Hey, Jack," she said, turning to him. "Do you think we'll have a boy or a girl?"
Jack smiled, taking her hand. "I don't know, but I'm sure it'll be perfect either way."
They talked for a while longer, imagining their future together. They imagined their child growing up, going to school and making friends. They imagined their family vacations, their holidays and their special moments.
As they drifted off to sleep, they both knew that their future was bright, and they were excited to see what it held.
The next few days passed quickly, with Ava's wedding dress fittings and preparations for the big day. She was excited to see Ethan again, and she hoped that their relationship would blossom into something more.
Finally, the day arrived, and Ava was getting ready for another dinner date with Ethan. She put on a beautiful dress, and her father escorted her to the car. As they drove to the restaurant, Ava felt a sense of excitement and nervousness. She was looking forward to seeing Ethan again, and she hoped that their evening would be perfect.
