fifteen

“Alone with the stars and the sky.” I instantly rake a step back as he glowers at me. I feel my hand shaking as I run out of the door but when my hand reaches the doorknob; I get pulled off the ground. Colton, or the creature which has possessed him, holds me tight as I scramble to get out of his hold. What if he eats me up? My heart races as he walks hardly to the window and without a second thought jumps down. I find myself stuck in the air with a monster in a towel which I’m obviously not proud of. What is this thing and why have they taken me?  I feel it press something against my face and in seconds; I lose consciousness. *Some time later* I turn on my side and feel something heavenly underneath me. It’s very soft and sinks in when I move. I slowly open my eyes and soak in my surroundings. White walls and a bookshelf in the room's corner. I have seen this place before somewhere. I shake my head and the events of yesterday come rushing in quickly. I groan softly as I try to sit up and get on my feet. I need to get out of this place right now! I never knew Colton was a psychopath with fangs. I look down horrified, realizing that I’m naked when I notice I’m wearing an oversized white shirt. Who made me wear it is the first question I ask myself, but escape is key to solving these unanswered questions. The door is unlocked so I silently open the door and run down the stairs. I look around in search for the door but I contact someone else. Colton stands right in front of me with his hands about to grab me. I take a step back as the memory of him looking like a monster flashes through my mind. I flinch. “Olivia, I can explain everything.” Colton holds my arm as I tremble. Is he going to hurt me? I ask myself repeatedly. His grip is firm, and it’s so hard I’m sure it will leave a bruise. “Start explaining what you were last night! Why you abducted me and assaulted me in who knows what ways!” I ramble on as he stares into my eyes.  “I never meant to hurt you!  I thought it was the only way to protect you!” He reasons, but I feel my blood boiling. If he keeps on speaking, I’ll be forced to punch him in the face. “I never knew ways to protect people were to kidnap them by showing them your true colors.” I say rudely and I notice how surprised he gets. His jaw clenches and his hold on me tightens. “You’ll be grateful for what I did.” He growls lowly as I take a step back. I can swear I saw his eyes change color for a moment and turn pitch black. Fear rushes through my body as he leaves my arm and takes a couple steps away from me. “You will live here from now onwards, whether you like it. I’ll send someone to give some clean clothes to you and don’t escape. You won’t succeed.” Colton says in a deathly tone and walks out of the front door. I sit in the nearest chair, trying to calm my pulse. After half an hour, I walk over to the door. Colton left straight so I’m sure it must be opened. It’s locked, I huff and walk back into his room. Someone walks inside the room. It’s a girl. She looks about fifteen and is wearing denim shorts. She smiles at me when she sees me. “Here, Alpha told me to bring these to you. If you need anything, call me.” She places the clothes on the bed and walks away. I groan loudly as I stamp my foot on the ground as I notice that my chance to get away from this psychopath has gone. I look towards the window as I try to think of many ways to escape from here. I check it but to my misfortune it’s locked. I roll my eyes as I feel a large pit growing in my stomach. I anxious bite on my nails and as time passes, I grow more scared and confused. I don’t know where I am and if I will die soon. My eyes flicker towards the clothes and slowly I grab them. I need to wear something. I look around to find the bathroom and enter it to find an en-suite bathroom. I glare at my appearance in the mirror to look like a mess. My hair looks like they haven’t been combed in ages. I shift awkwardly as I strip naked and pull on the clothes. They fit decently. I find a hairbrush in one cabinet and use it to quiet down my hair. I know you shouldn’t randomly open cabinets in a stranger’s houses but you shouldn’t kidnap people as well. After making sure I look human, I walk out the bathroom to find Colton staring at me. He seems to have calmed down after our argument five hours before, it’s nighttime outside. I hate to admit it, but the view from his room is magnificent.  “I am sorry for everything I said.” He blurts as he sees I’m about to kill him.  “I don’t want your apology. I want to get out of this place right now before I stab you.” I reply and he flinches noticing the venom in my voice. “I am doing this all for your safety! If only you knew...” Colton says and looks into the distance. I can’t listen to his bullshit anymore. “Knew what?” I ask coldly and he turns his gaze towards me. “The truth about your family.” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- P.S.
