More people had gathered and a murmur swept around them at the request. Alaric stepped forward. “What is your name?” he asked gently. “I am Damon Estos.” Alaric reached out to read him lightly, getting a sense of the man"s exhaustion and pain. He"d been running for more than a week, sleeping in caves and under piles of leaves. Beyond him, Alaric could feel the current of discontent among his own people.
