It felt odd to be sitting in a hospital bed, alone and thousands of miles from home. Though, if he was being honest with himself, everything about his life at the moment felt odd. He hadn"t been alone since leaving the mountain, and then it was only moments of alone time, an hour tops, for the better part of two months. He longed for a quiet mountain pond, the silence of the forest at night. Instead, he had the sounds of people in the hallway, the scent of antiseptic, and a broken body.
