As soon as I stepped off the plane, everything seemed to shift, the place I had called home for years was now nothing but a dark memory I couldn't wait to lose. Lukas didn't send anyone for me, I texted Tomas, his gamma, who said he would send someone to pick me up. While I waited at the luggage pick up the pack members who worked in the airport were whispering, and while I would normally tune it out, this time I listened in. Any ounce of leverage I could get against Lukas would be the most important thing I needed to take him out. It wouldn't be long before Elder Thorne, who hadn't been home in the pack for years, would return to come against me. No one knew who his Luna was going to be, but they knew he was in a five year long relationship with a school mate. If Elder Throne saw it was me, it would ruin all my plans.
"Did you hear, Alpha Lukas was with the princess of the North Kingdom all weekend. They were tied up in the hotel and didn't dare come out. Do you think she could be the next Luna?" One of the passing flight attendants for the pack spoke to another pausing not far from the luggage belt. I watched, waiting for my bag to come along.
"No doubt, and thank the moon goddess. I heard that the woman he was with was some nerdy girl from high school. A low, no rank omega from a small outer pack. Not worthy of our alpha at all. All weekend you say? She could be pregnant already! An heir. He would have to marry her for sure. Can you imagine a? A princess as our Luna?" The other attendant beamed, and I smirked. If only they knew I had just single-handedly stripped Henry, Rose's father, from his claim to the throne. She was nothing now, nothing but a spoiled, rich heiress of a weak, noble family.
"I know! And she's royal blood. Her wolf must be more than strong, she must be beyond rare. Decedent from the moon goddess herself!" I smirked at that remark. Rose's wolf strong? Hardly. She was a mixed-blood wolf. Her father was royal, yes, but his bloodline was so diluted they produced mixed-fur wolves, and since Rose's mother was a prostitute, a common gray wolf, her wolf was a basic gray, black mixed fur. Henry had to marry her to make sure Rose wasn't a bastard, but soon after, Rose's mother disappeared, and they used dark witch magic to make Rose appear to be a pure white wolf with purple eyes, attempting to make her appear blessed by our goddess.
"Hey, watch where you are going, you pathetic omega." One of the attendants snapped at me as I slipped past them. I barely looked back over my sunglasses watching her dust off the lapels of her flight attendant uniform.
"My goddess, Sasha! Are you okay? Did she get her filth on you?" The other dropped her hand off her suitcase and looked over the blonde's uniform as if I had soiled it with rotten meat. "Do you know how expensive these uniforms are? You could hardly think to afford I thread."
"That uniform is worth five grand, and it isn't even up to the company's issue. Those are last year's uniforms. The new ones are worth eight grand. Lined with real gold. Those fake threads are worth nothing. If anything, she soiled my jacket." I dusted off the side of my jacket, and turned to look at them fully. "This outfit alone is worth ten grand, do you have the funds to pay it?"
"Please, as if you could afford such a thing. I can pick out a fake designer anywhere." The second girl came up prepared to slap me. I reached up and grabbed her hand, squeezing her wrist to the point of pain. She cried out, but I didn't release, holding firm even as she tried to pull away. "How can you be so strong? You're just a pathetic omega sl*t."
"Don't play with someone you don't know." I let her go, and he stumbled backward, falling to the ground. I pulled off my jacket and tossed it to a member of the crowd that had gathered. "Can you read the label inside that jacket?"
"Madison Morgan...you mean the fashion queen? This is her design?" The lady held up the label and the others all gasped collectively. I should know Maddie, she was my best friend.
"That's not possible! She must have taken the tag and put it on some fake, online bulls*t!" Sasha snapped, holding up her friend and glaring at me. I smirked and walked over to where my jacket was.
"Ever Madison Morgan design has a signature that no one can replicate in the seams. A pattern Maddie herself has perfected. It's a red thread usually in the corner pocket of a butterfly with a double m in the wings. Can you see if that is in the right pocket?" I asked the lady. She quickly searched and gasped when she found the signature, holding it up for the world to see. "So now that we have settled that this is real designer..." I stepped back, stripped down to my slip and heels and handed the ten thousand dollar suit to the lady who had just helped me. "Keep it, it's been soiled by dirty hands."
"How shameless! How can a dirty, filthy omega afford such a dress?" The flight attendant screamed. I looked back at her as I reached my suitcase to pull out a basic-looking wrap dress.
"You don't deserve to know that." I wrapped the dress around my body and tied it on the side. Then I slid my sunglasses back on and walked away ignoring the insults that followed me. As predicted, I had stirred up enough time for my car to show up. Meanwhile, my little stunt would get back to Lukas. They would soon have a rumor throughout the pack that some omega was showing off, and Lukas would need to investigate. While he was distracted trying to find me, I would be working on the inner sanctum of the pack. The inner circle. Getting into their heads. Making them think Lukas was up to something. Making them turn against him. Meanwhile, I would be propping up his competition, his cousin James. James was a good man, he would make a fine alpha, and if I told him who I was...he would believe me and support me. I knew that from my last life. Getting into the car, I looked at the driver, some warrior I hardly know. They always rotated like a clock around here.
"Welcome home, Ms. Shaw. Where to?" He was already typing in the directions to the pack house as he spoke.
"Take me to see James Lawarance please," I said, causing a pause. He looked at me in the mirror, and I offered only a smile. "I have a direct message for the cousin of our dear alpha. Are you going to keep me from my task?"
"Of course not miss." He cleared his throat, changed course and headed the twenty minutes to Jame's condo in the inner part of the pack, or downtown as we called it. I sat in silence, watching the trees zip by and the cars we passed. The warrior put on some music on the way, but I hardly paid any mind to it. I hardly paid mind to him until I saw the familiar door of Jame's house come into view. He was Lukas' beta, but not because he wanted to be. Their fathers were close and wanted their boys to be too. Sadly... Lukas let power get to his head and James, forced to be his Beta, couldn't fix that. I got out, ordering the man to stay put, and headed to the door. James answered on the second knock.
"Amara? What are you doing here? I thought you were still on business?" James looked exhausted... He had to be running the pack if Lukas was off with Rose. I cleared my throat and nodded to come in. With brow raised, James let me in and closed the door, sealing his runes and wards in place. We were in complete safety here.
"I am going to tell you something, and you are going to think I am making a joke, but I am not. Then, when you believe me...I am going to tell you something else. You will think I am crazy, and then I am going to have to prove it to you. Instead of all of that, I am going to just tell you to believe me when I say, one, I am the Princess of the Northern Kingdom and my father is Alpha King Marcus, and I am from the future. I already know what's going through your mind, so here. This will prove my identity." I handed him my seal, and on the back was me and my father as well as an engraving with my name. "And yes, I am from the future. In my past life, Lukas and Rose killed me to take my money and throne. They also kill you so you can't rise up the packs in revenge for me. I have always seen you as my brother-in-law, James. You are worth more to me and I want you alive. To prove I know the future, this weekend you were sent an anonymous letter that said the pack owes ten thousand dollars to Casino Lux, and a threat came against your future Luna if you don't pay. In a matter of three days, both Rose and I will be kidnapped. Lukas will demand you save Rose, because she is frail. You will pay for me, but that money will only end up back in Lukas and Rose's hands because they set it up to get money out of the pack without stealing it. You know I am right. I only have a few minutes, I already told Thomas i was on my way home so, think about it, and when you are ready to accept...I will tell you how you and I are gong to take your cousin down...and put you in the potion of Alpha."
"Am..." I was already gone, leaving him confused and with my seal. It was one of three anyway. I walked back to the car, slid in and let the driver take me home. I had put my plan into motion, one step down a hundred more it seemed to go.
