Her

**Alpha Xander's POV** I would have rather taken this pack down than help them with training, but my sister's mate is from this pack and they were severely at risk of attack. They are weak, and while Alpha Demetrius is friendly enough, I wouldn't mind ripping out his Beta's throat. The smirk that's always on his face and the way he carries himself like an alpha makes me all the more irritated being in his presence. I finished with the morning training with his pathetic excuses for warriors, and went inside to shower. Darcy, the cute little omega that had been paying me visits was waiting outside my door. For an omega, she sure was insatiable. I didn't mind, I wasn't either. Without saying a word I opened my door and grabbed her by her hair, pushing her in ahead of me. She squealed and giggled as I threw her face down on my bed, ripping her skin tight leggings to grant myself entrance. I smacked her a*s and plunged myself into her, grunting with satisfaction. "Xander, right there. Harder baby!" She screamed my name and I obliged her, slamming my d**k into her over and over. It didn't take long and I pulled out and released my seed on her back. I retrieved a towel from the bathroom and threw it to her to clean herself up. "That's a good girl. You can leave now." I nodded my head towards the door. She pouted her lips at me like she did every time. "Can't we just cuddle for a bit, Xander?" I growled at her. "That's ALPHA to you, Omega. Now get out. Better run fast, you have a hole in your pants." I laughed and headed towards my closet, not waiting to see what she had to say or her expression. She was nice enough, but I didn't plan on taking an Omega as my Luna. I would be laughed right out of the pack, not to mention it would put a target on my back. I strictly kept it physical, and I meant it to stay that way. I grabbed clothes from the closet and headed toward the bathroom. Once showered and dressed, I headed down to find Demetrius and give him a final update on the training this morning. His warriors had greatly improved over the three weeks I had been here, but running my pack from his lands was challenging, and I was ready to get home. My father was running the pack from there while I was here, but there was still issues coming up that would be easier if I was there. Rounding the corner, a scent caught my nose that was so wonderful it made Dax, my wolf, purr. It was vanilla with a flower undertone, like lavender maybe? I looked up the hall to see Demetrius carrying someone and a wolf I didn't know walking with him toward the hospital. I could tell the person in his arms was unconscious by the way her head was rolled back. I realized the unconscious figure in his arms....is my mate? 'MATE MATE MATE!!' 'Easy, buddy. You're giving me a headache!' 'DEMETRIUS HAS OUR MATE. KILL HIM!' Before I could stop him, he took control and let out a roar that shook the hall. Demetrius turned and I raced towards him, the rage at seeing him holding my mate took over. Before I could reach her, the man walking with him lunged and we went to the ground. Both of us clawing and fighting. He was definitely the strongest one here that was not an alpha. Was he her boyfriend? Were they together? The rage in me intensified and I pinned him under me, ready to k*ll him. I was pulled up from behind and I looked around frantically for Demetrius and my mate, but they were gone. I spun to fight the one holding me, but Damon was much quicker than I thought and he avoided my swing. I growled in frustration and pulled my arms from his hold. He grabbed my arm and was ready to hold me back as I approached the man being held back by a warrior. "What the h*ll is your problem, man?" I yelled. "Me? What the h*ll is your problem? She's hurt and you go at the man trying to save her life because of your stupid pride seeing another man holding her?" "You had no right to interfere. You are not a ranked pack member so maybe you should mind your own d*mn business!!" "I'm the closest person to her, so why don't you show some respect. She will probably reject you anyways, and I wouldn't blame her, you big oaf." "ENOUGH!" Demetrius stepped in between us and looked at us both with contempt. We both stopped fighting and stared at him, waiting for him to speak. "Alpha Xander, your mate is in grave condition right now, I suggest you calm yourself so I can take you to her. Adam, you are done here. I will put you up in a room for the night unless you wish to head back to the apartment." Adam growled. "I will not be leaving her in the company of this prick. She's my sister and I will be the one to stay with her." My rage grew and I could feel Dax fighting me for control. I was happy to hear they were not together, but his comment made me furious. "Like h*ll you will, mutt. I'll rip you apart before I let that happen." Demetrius sighed. "Neither of you will see her then. You're on my turf, and neither of you will disrespect me in my own house. Now get out of here, and for the Moon Goddess' sake, calm down." He turned his back and walked into the hospital and Adam and I both let out growls of anger. Dax whined softly in my head. 'Now you did it. Now we can't see mate.' 'Me? You had just as much to do with that as I did.' After Adam shot me a glare, which I ignored, I walked to the door that was now guarded by two warriors. I snarled at them to move, but they didn't budge. They bared their necks in submission but didn't budge, which could only mean that their alpha had ordered them not to. I didn't blame Demetrius for how he was handling this. I tend to be hotheaded. He should, however, know not to mess with another alpha's mate. I turned away from the door and went back to my room, where I was not surprised to see Darcy at my door in fresh clothes. She smirked and winked at me, but I couldn't bring myself to even look at her the same. My mate was downstairs fighting for her life. I growled at her to go away and entered my room, closing and locking the door behind me. I didn't even want a mate, yet here I was with one who may not survive. I ran my hands through my hair and picked up my phone. I had several missed calls from my father, but there was also a text from Angela, my ex. She texted me every once in awhile when she was lonely. Or h*rny. She was the reason I didn't want a mate. If I fell that hard and made that many stupid decisions for someone who was not my mate, who knew how bad and lovesick I would be for the one the Moon Goddess decided to stick with me. I couldn't let it happen. I made the decision to reject her in the morning before she has the chance to wake up and know who I am. I stripped to my boxers and crawled into bed, ignoring Dax's growls and whines about how he would k*ll me before he would let me carry through with it. It had to be done. For my protection and hers.
