Wipe The Floor!

“We fight for the independence of the people. If you are afraid of the enemy then go home. We have always lived in fear of them but I say no more! If we are to ever be free we must prove ourselves through combat. No mortal and no god will help us. We’re always painted as the weak. I say so be it. If it takes fighting the entire world then we will be people too!” The atmosphere was silent for a short time until the recruits burst into feverish cheers. "Our major is right, we fight for freedom or go back home with a chain on our neck!" "We will not live in fear anymore!" ... The recruits were very excited and motivated by Ignacio, they had admiration in their eyes as they stared at Ignacio, he was their idol and someone they can really look up to. The recruits almost forgot that the true leader of the rebel forces was Jin Sung. "Are you ready to take on the entire world as your enemy?!" Ignacio asked. "Sir, yes sir!" the recruits snapped to attention and shouted. "I can't guarantee you'll come home to see your family but I'll make sure the food tastes good while you stay." The recruits chuckled and smiled, nobody is scared or have doubt anymore, they had something far more important than their life to fight for and it was freedom and equality, for their family and for everyone. "Laugh as many times as you can soldiers because on the battlefield you wouldn't have the chance to laugh. Now go shoot those targets like they were your enemies. I will make sure the instructors make you go through hell in the training grounds or I'll bring you to battle right this instant!" The recruit's instructors shuddered with fear. Now they really have to torture these recruits if not then nobody would know their fate on the battlefield. "Dismissed!" The recruits turned around and followed their instructor for a few rounds of trip in hell, as for what kind of hell it was? Only a man with the wildest imagination could imagine what those recruits have to go through after that speech. Ignacio couldn't care any less because his eyes focused on Patricia, still with her ice-cold face, yet it brought a smile to Ignacio's lips. Ignacio walked up to her to which she snapped to attention and saluted."Good morning, sir!" "At ease," Ignacio said. Patricia turned into a rest position and looked Ignacio in the eyes, still with her ice-cold look. Ignacio subtly smiled. "How's the weapons supply?" "Reporting, the weapons have been counted and maintained properly sir," Ignacio smiled and approached closer."Good, good." At this time everyone was already leaving because Ignacio's liking for Patricia was an open secret. Well, it's not like Ignacio was secretive about it. "Say, which weapons do you like the most?" Ignacio asked with interest. "Pardon sir?" "Do you like any weapons that our leaders brought for the army?" Ignacio asked. "I don't think my job allowed me to feel some affection for weapons sir. But if I have to say then the mech, tanks, and javelin would be my favorite," Patricia adjusted her glasses as she stared at Ignacio who was getting closer and closer as time passed. Ignacio was happy and looked her in the eyes with a subtle smile. So she likes the mech. maybe I should bring her to pilot one sometimes, he thought. "What about rifles and sniper rifles?" Ignacio asked again. "I feel like those weapons are not destructive enough, and explosives weapons like grenade launchers are more to my liking sir," Ignacio felt his heart gave an extra beat when he heard that. Explosive weapons were also my favorite, he thought. "I need to talk to you more about this. Why don't we continue at lunchtime?" Ignacio invited. Patricia stared at him, her face was expressionless yet sweet with her naturally red lips and white smooth skin, coupled with her glasses that were new to this world, it adds up more to her beauty making Ignacio couldn't wait for lunch to arrive. "Yes, sir." She replied. "Good, I'll see you this afternoon then." Ignacio left after that. Leaving Patricia standing still with her ice-maiden looked although it had a tinge of red on it like a block of heated ice that was about to melt. She glanced at the soldiers who were growling, shouting, and crying as the instructor torture them like they are the devil from hell and remembered her task. Ah... I haven't given my speech yet. ... Ignacio went to his office, walking through the tunnels he bumped into some friends that joined the rebel army at the same time as him. "Major," a soldier saluted in front of him with a friendly smile. "At ease," Ignacio said. The soldier chuckled and tapped on his shoulder. "Look at you now. Is this the Ignacio I know? The one that had been sucking up to the elders but get nothing in return," Ignacio chuckled too and said: "I almost didn't recognize you. Are you really Xander the womanizer? The one who sleeps with the elder's daughter to gain some favor but got a kick to the butt instead?" Xander laughed with Ignacio as they recalled the past, except for the formal greeting, their conversation was like a close friend from the high school year. Ignacio loved the respect people gave to him but he did not forget his friends, instead, he would feel weird if his friend had to become too formal in front of him. "Well, I'm gonna stop wasting your precious time now. Go get busy and fight for what you believe." "You too, don't die out there," Ignacio said before he continued his step. As he walked to his office his friend's words still ringing inside his head 'fight for what you believe,' Ignacio ruminate with his feet still on the move. He didn't really believe in equality, in freedom for the common people, or in their happiness, he joined the army because Jin Sung pointed at him and he couldn't get out of this place because he was a traitor, and there's no place for a traitor in Theulux Empire. When he arrived inside his office he looked at the pile of paper on his desk, he sighed before he fell comfortably on his soft chair. He took a paper and read it. The paper was about the problem of service duration, it was unclear how long the people must serve as a soldier, and apparently, some people would like to know. It was weird to Ignacio. Didn't you guys come here for freedom, equality, and harmony? Why would you ask for service duration? Ignacio rubbed his forehead, this problem is out of his power and must be sent to the commander, only he can decide how long the soldiers must serve. He stabbed the paper on a nail to keep it in place and took another paper, this time it was a good problem, it was still a problem but it was good for Ignacio. The paper mentioned weaponized vehicles such as tanks and mechs, the problem was: there was not enough of them. The army only has 400 tanks and 2 mechs while the soldiers numbered more than 75,000. Ignacio was happy because he would also like more weaponized weapons and this paper would support his argument and convince Jin Sung to get more of them. Ignacio was correct in this regard but also wrong, yes 400 tanks were little but if the tank was an M1A2 Abrams tank then the situation was much different. Back in the ancient era of earth where the U.S reigned supreme in military might the nation only had 8,000 of these and it was enough to scare other nations, this tank was battle-proven main battle tanks, its armor was nigh-impenetrable even if it was shot with RPG-7. But sadly Ignacio didn't realize the true value of the tank even though he looked at them almost every day he never thought their power was beyond his imagination. Ignacio once again stabbed the corner of the paper to keep it in place and read the other paper, the paper mentioned a variety of problems such as; the cafeteria needed more variety of food, the AC was too cold, the gun was too heavy and other small problems that made Ignacio doubt his role as a major. Shouldn't this kind of problem be left to other people? Why do they send it to me? What the hell is going on with the REMF? Ignacio thought. He wished he could do some major planning or solving problems that would contribute to the victory against the enemy, instead he got a problem that was very irrelevant to the war. Ignacio almost couldn't do this anymore, why is the enemy not attacking? Months have passed, are they gonna let us accumulate more troops and steal their wealth until their empire gets sucked dry? Ignacio loved the action time instead of just sitting in his office and reading the bullshit his subordinates gave. "Oh... dear the emperor of Theulux. If perchance you can hear me, please send your troops to our city so I can move my troops to wipe the floor with your army."
