Shapeshifting!

Rosaline waved her hand and a transparent dome protected her from the bullets and mortar shell, she could see from inside the dome; bullets deflected, shells exploded while shrapnels bounced off her protective shield. She didn't know how powerful these objects are but she was relieved her shield could block them and left her safe and sound inside the shield.

Edeline also has a transparent dome protecting her person; although smaller in size and blue in color. She looked at the bullets and mortar shells with fascination as they dented when they hit the protective dome or exploded with blazing flame and hot shrapnel. she was also safe and sound inside the shield.

But Melmidoc and the others are not so safe and sound. As they are quite a distance from each other, they couldn't react fast enough to enter the dome before it was activated, once it was activated they couldn't enter unless Edeline or Rosaline put off the dome and let them enter first.

Melmidoc had his fists protecting his head as he gritted his teeth, his body was constantly hit by bullets, shrapnel, and explosions, it was an endless hell and suffering. He narrowed his eyes only to see nothing but smoke and dust as mortar shells constantly exploded on him. A mortar shell exploded in front of him with a burst of flame and shrapnels that shred his skin and flesh. Melmidoc groaned in pain.

"f**k!" Melmidoc dashed towards a random direction. He didn't care or knew where he was going but at least he could get away from the bombardment. Shortly after, he exited the bombardment area and was finally able to breathe and see clearly; with all the smoke and dust behind him. He looked around and saw that there are people on top of buildings with weird clothes, these people were constantly shooting towards the ground although he was unsure if these people could even see their enemies.

He narrowed his eyes at them before he turned and left, that was what he was about to do until a bullet punched through his calf, Melmidoc collapsed while he groaned in pain, he stared at his calf; it was fatally shot and Melmidoc could see the muscle and flesh inside. He looked up, on top of the building; he noticed a gleam of scope as it reflected the sunray; it was a sniper.

The sniper man wore a green tactical suit, commonly used for Jin Sung's military forces, prone on the very top of the building with his eyes on the scope. The sniper man focused his sight on his enemy who was currently on the ground, he adjusted his aim before he pulled the trigger, a flash and a horrendous noise tore through the air as the bullets hit Melmidoc on the shoulder.

Melmidoc groaned in pain before he forced his leg to stand and ran for his life. He exerted all of his energy on his leg as he ran, the wind constantly blew him in the face but he did not care. He dashed side to side to confuse the sniper as he ran, a loud bang reverberated but the bullet hit the ground instead, it was a miss, and Melmidoc was relieved before he sped up and left the city.

Rogerious and Edolina were on the run, with several snipers having their sight on them, there were a lot of pagodas on their way and each of them had a sniper positioned inside. Rogerious's body was marked with gashes and bullet holes some part of his body was charred; his blood flowed while he ran.

Edolina had severe or lethal damage on her, only mild cuts and some parts of her have red spots of the first-degree burn wound, it was all because of Rogerious, he was the one who protected Edolina while they were bombarded with bullets and shells, luckily Rogerious acted fast and pull her out of the danger zone. But the danger had yet to pass.

Bang!

A bullet tore through the air heading straight to Edolina, Rogerious reacted quickly and blocked it with his body, Rogerious groaned in pain but he continued to run with Edolina.

"Rogerious, you don't have to protect me, I'm also a body cultivator like you," Edolina glanced at him with worry as they ran.

"Just focus on running, don't think about anything else," Rogerious had his eyes fixed forwards. "I'm stronger than you think, so don't worry these toys can't hurt me-"

Bang!

Edolina collapsed, her leg was shot, she stared at the bloody holes on her leg with gritted teeth, holding the screams she wanted to let out. She wanted to stand up but to her shock, she couldn't.

Rogerious acted fast, he picked up Edolina and ran as fast as he could. Edolina was startled as she lay on his hands, she glanced at him with confusion but inside she felt joy and trust towards him. She wanted to stay like this but she knew she couldn't do that.

Edolina gritted her teeth and pushed herself from Rogerious's hand before falling to the ground, she forced her leg to stand and dashed towards the enemy, her body slowly deform and shifted with sudden violent energy burst forth from her being.

Her white and neat teeth turned into sharp, shark-like teeth, her nails turned into claws, and her tail popped out of her butt. She dashed like a cheetah, no, like a hungry beast as she climbed the tall pagoda effortlessly with her agile body, she approached the sniper man on the pagoda and slashed him with her claw, turning the man into sausages. She didn't stop to enjoy the scene, instead, she dashed to another pagoda and killed an enemy inside, and another, and another.

She killed efficiently and effortlessly, a single dash and a single strike was all it takes to kill a man, the snipers were helpless, their sniper was useless when Edolina got into them because they would be already dead with no time to pull the trigger or aim.

Ignacio saw this monstrosity through his binoculars, he was standing on the balcony of the skyscraper, overlooking the entire city.

"Sir, requesting back up, Argh-" A shriek from the radio that was hanging on his waist.

Ignacio was restless, this was beyond him. Edolina was far higher in cultivation than him nor any one of Jin Sung's soldiers except Brugdath. Ignacio took the radio to his mouth and said: "Brugdath, where are you, we need your help!"

Chsuuh!

"You don't even bother to ask how your commander is doing right now? Anyway, I'm on my way,"

Ignacio felt a little relief now that backup was on the way, he stared at Edolina who was currently jumping from place to place and kill his men one by one at a time.

"f**k! Brugdath you better hurry up!" Ignacio was restless not because he cared about his soldiers, it was because he was afraid that Edolina would come to him and kill him.

Like an answer to his prayer, Edolina turned her head and stared straight at Ignacio, he shuddered and put down his binocular, he back away from the balcony warily took out his M-16 from his back, and aimed, his finger ready to fire if Edolina decides to come to the balcony for him.

He stared and aimed left and right, unsure of where Edolina would appear, his breathing was quick, his heart; beat like an engine, giving him the adrenaline he needed to quickly react to danger. He waited, waited and waited, nothing happened Edolina didn't come for him. Maybe it was my imagination? He thought-

Crash!

Edolina punctured the floor as she entered the balcony from below, her form was that of a vicious beast as she stared at Ignacio with contempt, her slim and smooth legs had transformed into thick strong legs covered with white fur. She stepped heavily as she advanced to Ignacio.

Ignacio fired his gun with full auto, shooting tens of bullets per second, his firearms roared, and the noise reverberated. Edolina flashed left and right creating a series of afterimages as she dodged the bullets effortlessly.

Ignacio gritted his teeth, he took out a hand grenade from his waist, pulled the pin, and threw it at her. Edolina slashed the hand grenade making it unable to explode as it fell, its gunpowder strewn to the ground. Edolina advanced her step, slowly but surely as her gaze fixed on the man before her.

Ignacio aimed his M-16 again and pulled the trigger.

Click! Click!

Ignacio stared with wide eyes. Why in a time like this? He glanced at Edolina who was approaching him, he stepped back and stumbled to his butt, he scuttled back, still on his hands and butt. His heart was racing, the gun in his arm had fallen to the side. Sweat was trickling down his face but he didn't have time to put much thought into it when Edolina walked up to him with a stare.

Edolina raised her sharp claws, it gleamed under the sun before Edolina violently slashed-

Clang!

Ignacio closed his eyes when he heard that, he open his eyes and saw that Edolina is still in front of him, Ignacio lowered his eyes, that was when he saw Brugdath wielding a thick sword to blocked Edolina's strike.

"I guess I'm right on time," Brugdath said, smiling.

He stared at Edolina and said: "You used to be beautiful, now look at you," Brugdath sneered.

Edolina stared at Brugdath, she bared her sharp teeth and lowered her eyebrows, she raised her claws and said: "I'm gonna kill you!"

She slashed at Brugdath but he effortlessly dodged by jumping back.

"That was a close one," Brugdath playfully sighed and glanced at Ignacio who was still on the ground."Hey, you might wanna get out of here," Brugdath gave him a thumb up and a wink.

Ignacio glanced at Edolina who stared at Brugdath before he turned and hurried away, he didn't want to have anything to do with this crazy woman anymore.

"Hehe, look Edolina even a stranger is scared of your look, that's just how ugly you are right now," Brugdath mocked with a grin.

"Shut up!" Edolina shouted before she charged towards Brugdath.
