I watched Katherine leave my office, my heart pounding, and my mind racing. That damn wink—it completely threw me off.
For a moment, I sat frozen, staring at the door as it clicked shut behind her.

I ran a hand through my hair, trying to calm the storm of emotions brewing inside me.
