I paced the office, my mind spinning. There was no way Katherine had done this.
Someone had purposely set her up, but who? And why? The more I thought about it, the more frustrated I became.
The door opened, and Vera and Lilian walked in. I looked up, not ready for everything they were going to say.
“Why did you cover for her?” Vera asked, crossing her arms, her eyes sharp.
“I didn’t cover for her,” I said, trying to keep my voice steady. “I must’ve forgotten that I put the document there myself.”
