It had been four months since Adrian returned to his family. I missed him, of course.
His laugh, his smile, the way he would look at me like I was the only person in the room.
Charlotte equally missed him, but he was fair to always leave a day for us to be together. Workload nowadays was stressful for him.
But honestly, I was glad he was back with his mother. The woman was wonderful—kind, warm, and caring. Adrian needed that, especially after everything he’d been through.
