Mia It feels as though it’s been weeks, but in reality Mom has only been sedated for four days. In those four days, I haven’t left her side. I haven’t changed my clothes or eaten much until today, when Brad finally managed to talk me into it. He sits next to me, hands on the steering wheel, as he drives us back to his home. If it wasn’t for this man, I honestly would have broken—completely shattered. But with him staying by my side through all of this, it’s kept me grounded, kept me strong. He shouldn’t be doing this. He shouldn’t be forgetting about his priorities for me and my mother, but he did. He dropped everything to stay with me. And for that, I owe him so much, because let’s face it—I would have no one if he wasn’t here. It would just be me facing this nightmare alone.
