Liyah’s POV

I stood quietly even though I was in a panic mode, trying to process the trouble I had gotten myself into. This is not how I planned for my day to go, now I’m face to face with the King of our neighboring kingdom. Even though I was in a panic mode yet in a calm state, his features were one thing I didn’t miss. His jet black hair was so shiny and well moisturized, his chiseled face and sharp jaw was so attractive, and then there it is, his perfect blue eyes with tints of yellow in it and a perfectly tanned muscular skin which is so tempting to touch and feel.

I snapped out of my thoughts and observations when I heard a voice speak to me but then didn’t get a word he said because I was in my own world.

“I sorry your highness, I didn’t get what you said earlier “, I bow my head whiles talking to him.

“I said what is a lady like you doing her at this time, shouldn’t you be in house getting ready for dinner and bed”, his voice boomed. He had this deep voice that made my heart beat faster. Of course, he has an effect on other girls but why was I reacting too.

“Errrm... I was being chased by a growling animal whilst on an errand from work. And I didn’t know where I was going because I was running for my life, hence I ended up here, your highness “, I stated calmly.

“Hmmm.... and you expect me to believe such stupid excuses. You probably heard a rumor I was coming, so you took the chance to come see me. And here you are interrupting my journey”.

If looks could kill, the King would have announced dead. Who does this egoistic, arrogant man think he his. How is someone so handsome so full of himself. With the annoyed look on my face I told him what I also thought of since we were both stating what we are clearly thinking of.

“Look here your highness, you asked what I was doing here at this time, I gave you a respectful and honest answer. I won’t watch you insult or disrespect me because you are the so called King of Alzar. Everyone deserves respect, even me a commoner. So it’s better you start treating people with respect and get your head out of your butt because as much as we need you, you need us also, grow up child”.

The guards and even the ‘King’ was shocked at what I said. I was so proud of myself, I don’t get the chance to defend myself everyday and yet I did it today.... I mean I was so angry and it was needed.

After I calmed down, I realized what I did and started panicking inwardly yet maintaining my calm stature. ‘Oh gods of this land, I just stood up to the King’. I’m in big trouble now. I didn’t want to die like this. I wanted to be successful, have a husband and kids, but now my big mouth has ended me. He is very angry right now with the way his veins are showing off his neck.......that’s when I realized I was doomed.
