Chapter 23
Carly waved to Ashure and the dock hands one last time. She smiled broadly when Little Knight and the small flock of paper birds swept by the group and made their way to the top of the mast. Drago called out an order to release the lines and she watched as the great Dragonrider slipped from the dock and out into the protected harbor.
Before long, they were sailing through the narrow opening beneath the oddly shaped rock that was the entrance to Pirate’s Cove and the Isle of the Pirates. The sun was low on the horizon, but the sky was clear. As soon as they were clear of the towering rocks, Drago unfurled the massive wings and sails, and the ship began to rise above the waves.
