After the confrontation in the great hall I could not sit still. Caden’s words still burned in my ears. His public attempt to break me had only strengthened my resolve. I would not let Penelope suffer the same fate I had endured. I would find leverage to save her myself even if it meant risking everything inside my father’s own home.
