Shattered Rules
Kinza wiggled her fingers in the strips of sunlight coming in through the blinds, watching as it created patterns over her skin.
She was lying in bed in the other bedroom in Haris’s apartment. Thankfully he had given her a spare set of clothes that fit her surprisingly well. The shower had done wonders at wiping away the grime and dirt and fear of the last few days. It was a miracle what a little soap and water could do for a rattled mind. Grams would probably tell her that water had some special properties of healing or something like that. Afterward, she had passed out on the bed only to be woken up an hour later by Zaid’s deep voice rumbling in the kitchen.
