Chapter 14 Turning Tides Kinza dozed on the couch for a few hours, not really sleeping. Eventually, the noise of the tv sounded more appealing than trying to wrangle her thoughts. There was only cable, so she let the local evening news play. The reporter announced two murders at a resort and hotel nearby. The familiar image of the hotel appeared on screen, surrounded by several police cars and an ambulance. She almost felt guilty as the reporter said the perpetrators had not been caught, only vague images provided and no suspects at the moment. It did little to assuage the unease she felt every time the reporter mentioned the word “murder” or “investigation.”
