WARNING: LONG, UNEDITED CHAPTERS AHEAD! MOST OF THE CHAPTERS ARE OVER 4K WORDS LONG AND I HAD ONLY ONE EYE OPEN WHEN WRITING THEM- YES THEY WERE WRITTEN BY A DRAINED, HALF- ALIVE AUTHOR,  YES THEY CONTAIN  MISTAKES, SPELLING ERRORS( I BLAME TEXT PREDICTION FOR THAT) AND HAVE OMISSIONS. UNFORTUNATELY  I DO HAVE THE TIME TO EDIT THE CHAPTERS- BUT IT WOULD BE FANTASTIC IF I GET A COMNENT FOR EVERY CHAPTER!!!  Chapter Ninety One- Finally, She Crosses The line       Good apples and bad ones all in one basket, So rotten to the core, only a blunt nose can mask it, The vile scent of deceit and the bitter taste of ill influence, All forming an uneasy confluence, With the sweetness on your tongue, Until the stale musk covers all of the red flesh And unknown to you will be, the bite you took that stung           Blaire still could not believe how much Saber had inured himself to the stark changes in his routine, it was incredulous just how they could lay in silence and tend to their gadgets like any other normal human couple. He allowed her to familiarize herself with her first ever phone while he went over something on his laptop, a laptop she could have never imagined he owned and knew how to operate. Thanks to Raine exposing her to her phone, she wasn't entirely clueless and she was quickly learning on how to operate it and seize as much convenience as it offered. The effortlessness of passing on messages she enjoyed the most and she was having a blast texting Dotee. Dotee had the most intriguing perception and she had plentiful humor, had she met her before Raine, she would have most likely never formed any sort of a friendship with Raine.   As if Raine had read her mind, her text came in and reminded her of the pending request she shouldn't have dismissed from her mind earlier.   Diva: "The dress code and theme is Angels and Devils, bring your sugar daddy with you if it's possible, I want to meet him."   Idonsa: Yes, be sure to bring him along, Blaire!   Blaire rolled her eyes as she read the text, Raine had even attached some pictures for reference, because she truly believed she was utterly clueless and a lost cause. Blaire definitely not own such provocative, scanty pieces of wear, if she would've stuck to her usual garb, she wouldn't have struggled at all, Selib would've pulled out a sexy chemise like gown to meet the requirement. Blaire definitely desired to go to the nightclub, that's why she was even considering asking Dotee for help because she knew she could not get herself to look sultry like the women in the pictures with her ineptitude at administering beauty treatment. But, Saber was not going to like the idea of her inviting someone to their home and he was the most intimidating person she has ever encountered, so Dotee would be holding her breath the entire time, which wasn't ideal.   "Syvion avior?" She began with her best entreating voice and supplemented it with a coaxing smile when he closed the laptop and awarded her with his full attention.   "Yes, love?"   Pursing her lips, Blaire crawled over to him, removed the computer from his thighs and straddled him. Then she pecked him on the lips to sweeten him preparatory to telling him about Raine's "compulsory" invitation. "Today is Raine's birthday and I've been invited to the celebration party…" She decided to let it out in segments just to gauge his reaction because she so desperately wanted him to say yes and not begrudgingly, but the way he was already pulling his face asserted the opposite.   His pupils dilated and Blaire felt tingles strumming her spine the longer she gazed into his celestial, hauntingly beautiful eyes.  When his lips twitched and he cracked a small smile, she became a bit hopeful, then he cupped her face a pulled her in for a fervid kiss that wasn't just a tease of the receptors.    "Don't kiss me like this if you're going to reject me." Blaire chided him inwardly.   "Go on." He planted a single, peppery kiss on her collarbone and Blaire sighed lightly, trying not to get wind up like in the car. The rejection still stung, but that's not where her focus was, she was still going to wring the truth out of him later.   "Well… the party will be at a nightclub not far from here and there's a theme; Angels and Devils, it is not very decent.. and the party starts at eight, it's an all- nightier, but I don't have to spend the night there, I will be back before midnight." As much as she entreated him with her eyes, their pleas were not endearing enough, by the time the last word rolled off her tongue, he was frowning profusely, disapproval was profound in his ethereal eyes- so the response he offered her came to her as a surprise.   "I am coming with you, I won't leave you alone in an establishment full of drunk idiots." Just as she had anticipated, he found the setting to be distasteful, but at least he agreed.   "I don't know… Raine is going to hound you the entire time…." She really couldn't imagine him coping in a clamorous environment sheltering teenagers with a hankering for vanities and with an undeniably immoral nature. Then there was Raine, lord knows she was going to scald him with the third degree, especially now that she staunchly believes she's leeching off of an older man.   "I will endure her insufferable existence," he affirmed sternly, "I need to be there to protect you, you are my queen."   "You are becoming overbearing." She teased, feigning displeasure at his staid tone. Now that she had no protectors or any royal privilege, Saber had become even more overprotective, so overbearing that she only had to take ten minutes in the fitting room for him to come barging in the ladies' fitting room to check on her. He couldn't bear being away from her so much, somehow he managed to convince the boutique owner to allow him to stay in the fitting room with her.   Saber c****d a brow, a rarity of a coy smile playing on his lips. "So what is it going to be? Devil or Angel?"   "I'll leave that one to you, we can dash over to the costumes store we saw yesterday." She suggested, they only had an hour on their hands and it wasn't enough. "You know, you'd would make a handsome Devil… without Selib, I am going to struggle.." She bashfully admitted.   "Tell me what you need and I will make sure it is available."   She blushed profusely, like the swooning hopeless romantic she was. The Beast had reserved a soft side for her, he was nothing like she knew him, it was arduous to trust and almost implausible, leaving her amazed each time his romantic, enamouring side came out.   "Thank you, syvion avior…" she kissed him briefly, her excitement could not be veiled, she was finally getting the opportunity to live. "And if it's too terrible, I will make it up to you."     ■■■《《》■■■》《》■■■》》》《■■》■■■       Beau Linx situated itself right in the heart of the city. In its five weeks in operation, the nightclub had become quite prominent and was thriving. It had amassed so many fans, that it was packed every day of the week and business was booming so rapidly that the plans to expand to the east were already underway. Blaire took in the scattered human beings roaming up and down listlessy, most puffing out clouds of smoke and assaulting the atmosphere, the majority could not maintain proper posture, the majority were dressed scantily and the majority looked two more sips and one more drag away from waddling. Then when she exited the car and strutted to the entrance hand in hand with Saber and the most bouncing, electric music was already ushering them in- she immediately felt the qualms and could tell that she was going to have to endure a lot to survive in this boisterous scene.   "Are you okay, Angel?" Saber checked on her for the fifth time in a span of an hour, she had lost count on how many times he pulled down on her tutu- like, fluffy skirt and adjusted the massive wings draping from her back. The skirt was too short, but unfortunately it was the only one of its kind available and she loved it and had to win him over by promising she will avoid bending over at any cost.   Blaire took a moment to hand the VIP cards Raine had given her to the security personnel at the entrance and only turned to address Saber once they had stepped onto the red carpet. "A Devil should have no business worrying over an Angel." She teased, he knew very well that she was flattered by his overprotective side and much to her relief, he had assured her that as long as she's by his side, he will be satisfied.   Beau Linx was exactly what Blaire had expected it to be and Raine wasn't joking when she told her she'd convinced her parents to book the whole place and invited so many people,  her party was going to be the largest of the century. A few seconds in and Blaire already had to grasp Saber's hand tightly as they navigated through a sea of dancing bodies. The multi coloured beams of light flashing around in the establishment illuminated by a red main light to give the ambiance a Hellish feel, were very unnerving and definitely this kind of haven was an acquired taste. Then the music engineered by a clearly overly enthusiastic, but nevertheless great disc jockey changed the rhythm of her heart in a way which wasn't pleasant. Nerves easily found their way to Blaire, this was her first time at a nightclub while Raine and her "friends" had more experiences than the fingers on her hands in places like this. While Saber was mostly unfazed and maintained a look of nonchalance despite the vociferous rout of teenagers and uncontrolled environment he wasn't' used to: Blaire on the other hand felt out of place, like she was one wrong footing away from mishap, which made her so thankful she had Saber by her side. Watching the girls in scandalous attire getting groped, rejecting a handful of offers from drunk, arrogant louts and get alcohol spilled on them, made her even more thankful she didn't come alone.   The VIP lounge upstairs was posh, with an interior worthy of the hourly charge and it was soundproof, blocking away the heavy noise coming from the lower floor. The minute they stepped into the lounge multiple pairs of eyes fell on them and Blaire could tell just how baffled the girls from her school were that she had walked in with a man whose imposing figure and noble built already naturally commanded attention. Blaire ignored the gawking drama queens and led Saber to the private bar where she knew she'd find Raine and Dotee. The bar area was large and built for such occasions, with a long counter and at least enough rotating bar stools for twenty people and six bar tenders skilled in mixing killer cocktails ready to take orders and ensure that the party animals' throats never go dry. When Raine spotted her, her face scrunched up like she was witnessing a phenomenon.   She quickly launched herself from the stool and posed in front of them with her best lascivious smile on. Her specious charm shined through as her eyes raked down Saber's form without any discretion. "Hey, sorry, may I borrow her for a second? Thanks." Before any of them could even respond, Raine had clutched Blaire's wrist so tightly she couldn't wrest it free as she pulled her away so quickly she almost lost her footing in the heels. Raine only fettered her from her arresting hold when they were away from the crowd next to the storage room.   "Did you really have to pull me so hard?! I almost fell-" Raine clearly did not care for her gripe, she cut in so sharply Blaire was taken aback by the pitch of her voice.   "Wow! Mhmmmmmm…." Raine's wanton eyes drank in Saber in all shamelessness. Those black leather pants hugged his strong legs so perfectly and his bared torso was every bit of perfection too unnatural to be described with existing words. His hulking build, his domineering aura, the way he was slanting into the bar counter, his strong presence, his nonchalance, his impeccable face…. He was one smoking hot Devil, those large black wings strapped on his broad shoulders, the black horns molded to his temples and his pale blue eyes which glowed slightly made him even more swoon worthy. "Look at him, he's  perfect, wow he's so tall… gosh look at him, I'd lick him all over! Wow, who is he? Where did you find him?"   Blaire would be lying if she said Raine shamelessly gushing over her husband and undressing him with her eyes didn't ruffle some feathers, she was offended, that's why she didn't select her words cautiously. "He is my husband, now stop looking at him like that." The words tumbled past her lips before she could be wiser, but the sneer remained.   Raine snorted, turning to Blaire with a derisive smirk, "Come on now, Blaire, I know you've got dreams and ambitions but I want you to be real with me right now- seriously, who is he? What's his name?"   Blaire knitted her brows together and struck her with a battering frown which was met by ignorance, Raine did not even notice that she was angering her. "I've got dreams and ambitions, what do you mean by that?"   Raine only faced her for two seconds before her leery gaze was back on Saber, who looked very impatient and out of place in such a crowd. "I mean come on, Blaire, you are you, how did a girl like… you, get a man like that?" Blaire's frown deepened at what she was insinuating.   "Why wouldn't a man like him be interested in me?"   Raine's eyes found her and her disparaging look sufficed for any explanation. "He is way out of your league, babes."   "If that were the case, he wouldn't be my MAN." Blaire retorted in a biting tone, but still Raine didn't care to reconsider provoking her.   "Huh!" She scoffed dryly, like she had said the most absurd thing ever. "I wouldn't be so sure about that if I were you, I mean he's clearly older and looks like a God, you seriously believe that a man that good looking was waiting for you to find him? No, babes, he probably has a wife at home or at least a girlfriend and trust me when I tell you this- he is cheating on you, if you're not the other woman that is. I am a hundred and ten percent certain that he has a lot of bitches calling him their man, stop being so naive Blaire. I know you didn't ever have a boyfriend and I don't know how this situation happened, but he probably approached you because he saw that you're naive. It's not that you're special, that's a cheat right there, there are too many thirsty bitches out there and they're gorgeous."   Blaire had heard enough, but just before she could walk away from Raine's enraging presence, a familiar voice came from behind her.   "Wow! Look at you sexy! Wow, I'm speechless right now, you look H-O-T!" Dotee exclaimed, throwing a couple of wolf- whistles as she spun Blaire around.   "Thank you, you look so sexy too, like the best She-Devil in the room." Blaire returned the compliments and gave her a small side hug. Dotee had rescued her and Raine's expression alone told her of her feelings towards the blonde. Dotee had a very feckless spirit, she didn't have to rain on someone's parade so her own band could march down, much like Raine and her clique.   Raine rolled her eyes and shoved herself in between the girls dramatically. "Alright, I need a drink." She led them to the bar and took the seat next to be Blaire before Dotee could. The bartender offered Raine the menu after a brief flirtatious exchange. "Okay, so I've already had a few of these….. there's One Night Stand, Kiss Of Bliss, Strange Sensations, Nude Beach, Unforgettable Sin, Eve's Bite,  Garden of Eden, Moment On The Lips…" Blaire only corrugated her brows in thought as she listed the drinks with very creative names.   "What are those?" She questioned as Raine placed her order; Eve's Bite.   "Cocktails, be careful, most of them taste sweet but pack a mean punch." Dotee warned, right after leaving them to answer her cousin's call.   Raine leaned into her with a smirk after receiving her drink. "I know exactly what you need…. Igan?" She called one of the bartenders who looked to be the same age as them.   "What's up?" The haughty smirk on his face and the lacking bass in his voice also said a lot about his level of maturity.   "This is my cousin Igan, short for Bovigan," Raine introduced him briefly and some "hi"s were exchanged. "So listen, I want you to give Blaire our special mix, a full glass,  just to get her in the mood." The boy's eyes turned to Blaire and he stared her strangely, like he was trying to determine if she was worthy. Him and Raine communicated with their eyes before he walked into the door behind the bar.   "Your guy must be lonely." Raine commented, her eyes most definitely searching for him but there was a serried group of people serving as a barrier. "Oh I wonder what he's doing… if he hasn't wandered off…. But you're here for me, I'm the birthday princess.. he can wait and do whatever..." She was deliberately taunting her and Blaire didn't appreciate it. Blaire did wonder how he was managing, and she felt terrible about leaving him alone, but escaping Raine wasn't a cushy task. Igan returned sooner than she'd expected with an electric pink drink in a long glass in hand.   "Here you go." He placed the drink in front of Blaire, and for some reason, she found it intimidating and became nervous as she stared at it.   "No… is it alcoholic? I want a non-alcoholic drink." Raine rolled her thin eyes to the back of her head at her words.   "There is no alcohol in it, just some special ingredients for a special blend."   "What ingredients are those?"   Raine puffed out air loudly jadedly, "Hey, the recipe is a secret, there's no alcohol in it, now stop being such a sissy! You're really so annoying sometimes. Go on now, It's delicious." Raine urged and her cousin followed suit when Blaire's hesitation didn't waver.   "I promise you it'll be the best thing you've ever had in your mouth." He promised her with this wicked glint in his eyes and winked at her before pushing the glass closer to her and walking back to his station.   Blaire took it with curious eyes and a grimace, she sniffed it before bringing the rim of the glass to her lips. Just as she was not expecting it to be pink, she wasn't expecting it to introduce her body to wildly different sensations. The pink liquid was the strongest thing she had ever brought down her throat. The drink was sweet and refreshing on the tongue, it even had a citrus-y after- taste and smell, but it left a trail of flames as it passed down her throat and burned her internally. The fire of the drink made her insides tingle and each sip left her more thirsty than the last and tempted another, so she found herself downing it faster than she thought necessary. Raine was right, it was delicious, but she must have forgotten to mention that it was quickly addictive. By the time Blaire had chugged down half of the drink, she had long exceeded the stage of normal weirdness, she felt very strange, but somehow could not bring herself to focus on that feeling. When she walked over to Saber, her footfalls felt light, her mind was getting numb and she knew that even he could tell that she was not enunciating her words the way she usually does, that her grin was getting wider and becoming more permanent and her gait had lost grace as well.   When she returned to Raine she was welcomed with a full glass of the drink, Raine had refilled it before she could even finish it. Blaire downed the glass and she had never felt more woozy and eccentric than she did that night. Raine opened a lot of gifts, she cut a mega- sized cake and then it was time to hit the dance floor. Ignited to the last stretch of her being, Blaire threw her body around and danced like the floor was on fire, like she was on fire, every emotion shaping her was exhilarating and she felt herself begging to get more consumed: her head felt like a cloud suspended above the sky, she was in her own woozy, fun world, just floating away without a single care. She stared up and she could see the galaxy above her head, fireballs coming down from all directions, but she just kept dancing. Everything was bizarre. Dotee had a white jackal hanging from her shoulders and it was desperately trying to get a word in while she spoke.   "What happened to you?" Blaire's palms roamed all over her face as she laughed uncontrollably, Dotee had transformed into an under- sea creature, terrifying, but amusing. "Why do you have that thing on your shoulder? Throw it away, it's talking s**t and I can't stand it." Blaire growled irately, the jackal just didn't want to stop talking and before Dotee could even ask her what was going on, Blaire had snatched her coat and thrown it across the lounge, then she fought to tear down her wings. Dotee resisted and managed to get her to stop, shocked by her aggressive behavior.   "What did you drink?" Dotee could tell that something was amiss with her, but Blaire couldn't take a creature talking through a long snout seriously, she just kept on laughing. "I think you should go back to your boyfriend, Raine has been standing there for too long, that b***h has no shame.   "You look funny." Dotee gave up on her when she only continued to cackle like she was insane and decided to take care of the matter herself. Blaire continued to dance, despite her growing concerns that the rippling floor was going to swallow her whole. She could see her feet sinking in and the creatures around her just kept increasing in number. While she closed her eyes and swayed, Raine shoved a body into her and to follow first contact was arms locking around her waist. Raine turned to her with a smug smile and she introduced him to her, whispered something to him and then sashayed off. Blaire didn't care about the details, she just wanted to move her body like a snake, a seductress of a snake, and she couldn't help but giggle as she told him about the milkyway above their heads and he groped her on the dance floor. Blaire melted into the warm body, until it was abruptly ripped from her and she lost balance and met the floor with her knees.   An enraged Saber gave the boy a taut, Unforgettable warning, and the boy waddled away knowing that he had encountered a force that is not from this world when his flaming orange eyes seared into him, his hot breath charred his face and he nearly fractured his collarbone with just his fingers. Saber was not very fond of Blaire's behavior tonight, she had promised him that she was not going to drink without him even asking, but she was clearly overboard inebriated, otherwise she would be swimming on the floor. Saber lifted her from the floor and threw her over his shoulder and she began screaming and swinging her legs vigorously.   "No! No! Where are you taking me?! I don't want to go! Stop!"   "We are going home."   Her frantic yelling commanded a lot of attention, but no one dared to stop him as he furiously marched out of the club. As he placed her in the car and she mumbled a string of incomprehensible grumbles, he knew that he was going to have to pay Raine a visit, have a serious talk with her and try not to snap her neck in half while at it.
