Chapter 2

AUTHORS POV

"Ha ha I'm just playing, look at you all scared I thought you're a big girl who can take care of herself." Alex snickered looking at Anna's terrified face.

“Right.. Why would you kill me, you’re a good guy who just saved me, so I’m safe with you” Anna flashed a beautiful smile at the stranger relieved and Alex's heart skipped a beat, his ears turning red, totally taken aback by Anna’s words.

“I’m not a good guy.” Alex blurted out frowning and Anna looked at him with questioning eyes which didn’t go unnoticed by Alex. “Ha ha I don’t mean that I kill people or something like that. Yes I'm a good guy.” Alex concluded and awkwardly laughed trying to put Anna’s mind at ease. The poor girl was starting to be suspicious of Alex.

“Oh and here is my car, thank you for accompanying me Um… who?” Anna asked suddenly realizing that she does not even know this stranger's name.

“I’m Alex” Alex mentioned smiling like a fool trying to look friendly, why was he trying so hard? “Okay Alex my saviour thank you for saving me, now I’m going back to my miserable life, It was nice to meet you.” Anna smiled getting into her car.

“Do come around again when you’re feeling down, maybe we’ll coincidentally meet again.” Alex grinned like a fool waving goodbye at Anna.

“Give me your phone numbers so that I can call you when I come again.” Anna suddenly asked for Alex’s number and Alex frowned not understanding what Anna is talking about.

Alex wondered whether he should ask Anna what phone number is but decided against it thinking Anna will catch on that he’s not a human but a creature, a wolf with fangs and claws, that he could actually kill her but he just chose not to, Alex shook his head deciding to not ask her.

“I don’t have it, just come back and hopefully I’ll be there too coincidentally, okay. Bye go back safe.” Alex said and fled not wanting Anna to ask more questions but Anna was wondering why is the Alex guy going back to the forest and not going home. She also wondered what Alex was doing in the forest in the first place but shrugged all those thoughts off and drove off.

Alex looked at Anna driving away with a smile that quickly turned into a frown when he felt a pang on his heart already missing the latter but all these emotions were foreign to Alex. Alex didn’t understand what was going on with him. His stomach growled again reminding him that he just saved a potential meal instead of killing and eating her. Alex closed his eyes and turned back into a wolf and went to hunt for food.

“Oh my God... Did you see that?” the shaman wolf named Dave asked the Wolf man named Mark as they both were watching Alex with that woman all this time.

“I’m sure it’s nothing to worry about, Alex just felt sorry for her since she wanted to commit suicide, you know he’s half human after all.” Mark said not wanting to read too much into what they just saw. Alex saving a woman instead of slaughtering her and even accompanying her, waving goodbye at her with a smile. That's very unlikely of him.

“I hope that’s just that, Alex has been very lonely lately, we don’t want a human and a wolf love stories around here. I would personally murder her, if I have to.” Dave mentioned all serious and Mark knowing that Dave actually meant what he said Mark tried shifting Dave's attention to other things.

“Look there’s meat over there let’s go catch our supper I’m so hungry.” Mark exclaimed happily to Dave taking his hand leading the way.

‘I wonder why Alex saved that lady though.’ Mark wondered as well but shrugged it all off and ran to go catch that Springbok that was eating grass peacefully not noticing the wolves targeting it.

Mark was about to attack it when it was suddenly slaughtered by Alex's claws and started whimpering in pain. “Nice catch Alex, I was about to catch it too." Mark said and all three of them laughed and started devouring the poor animal happily while talking about this and that but Dave was giving Alex suspicious looks which didn't go unnoticed by Mark.

After enjoying their meal together the boys were now full and went separate ways. Dave was still thinking about Alex and Anna's situation, he just couldn't stop thinking about it. Mark tried his best to make Dave get over it but Mark was not successful in doing so.

Alex got to his best friend's woods hut and knocked. "Luu it's me Alex" Lucas came out and chilled with Alex outside, inside was his pregnant wife. "Lex my man you good?" Lucas asked as they shoulder bumped, Lucas had not seen Alex in days now busy being a good husband to his mate.

"I'm good man but I missed you, I hardly see you since you got married, I'm so lonely." Alex complained pouting a little and Lucas hit his shoulder playfully.

"Bro being married isn't as easy as I thought and also having a pregnant mate makes it even worse." Lucas whispered to Alex not wanting his wife Mariah to hear him. Alex laughed at his friend.

"Should I tell her what you just said huh Mari-" Alex wanted to shout out Lucas's mate's name but Lucas quickly covered Alex's mouth with his hand shaking his head at him, literally begging him to not do this. Alex raised his hands in surrender and Lucas let him go.

"You're really scared of her aren't you? No mate of mine would ever make me act like you do." Alex whispered back not wanting to be loud. "You'll only understand when you get there, you look very happy today did something nice happen?" Lucas asked curious since Alex was super hyper today.

"Nothing happened I just missed you" Alex said all smiles and Lucas shook his head at him. "That’s not all, did you finally find your mate? You're smiling a little too much today." Lucas raised his eyebrows at Alex suspicious of him.

"Mmm where do I start.... Alex started.

But at that same time Dave arrived at Lucas's house after finally being able to escape from Mark's grip. Dave hid nearby listening carefully at their conversation.
