AUTHORS POV

Alex pulled Lucas running somewhere secluded and Lucas dumbfoundedly followed Alex. Finally Alex stopped running about 15 minutes. He stopped in a quiet, secluded place and they both panted a bit. I mean it’s not like they are 12, they are in their late 20s and running like that can make one tired.

“What is it, why did you bring me here? What did you do Lex?" Lucas asked concerned about Alex. "Today I met a human in this our forest..

“And you ate a delicious meal without me? “ Lucas complained with a pout cutting Alex off not letting him finish his sentence.

“No, no, no listen, I couldn’t murder her, I wanted to, she was all alone and vulnerable, I could’ve easily slaughtered her but her scent that I tried to ignore many times drives me crazy and seeing her crying and wanting to commit suicide, I just couldn’t bring myself to do it.” Alex explained what happened yesterday to Lucas, who furrowed his eyebrows looking at his best friend confused.

“Her scent? Feeling sorry for a human? You? That has never happened to you, remember that man who was crying complaining about how unfair the world was to him and you said let me do him a favour and end his misery and murdered him? And also that little kid who wandered around and lost her parents that you killed brutally without thinking twice. I don’t get any of the things you’re saying right now. You my friend are brutal, you kill them like they are flies, mothers, fathers, girls, boys, young or old. You just murder Alex!"

Lucas blabbered non stop not believing what Alex was telling him, reminding him of the many brutal murders he did before without hesitation. So why was this one not killed? It doesn’t make sense.

“You know what’s worse I even accompanied her out of the forest so that she goes home safely. I went further and invited her to come here again, I’m going crazy please help me Luu” Alex came into realization that he was acting abnormal and Lucas was just there taken aback by all the things Alex was telling him. Not believe any of them.

'I can't hear them properly I shouldn't concentrate more' Dave spoke to himself and moved a little closer to where Alex and Lucas were standing.

"Did you hear that?" Alex looked around alerted but couldn't see where the sound he just heard came from. "I guess it was just a lizard or something" Alex concluded relaxing again.

ALEX POV

“You promise you won’t tell a soul about all the things I told you right. I’m conflicted as I am, I really don’t need Dave or any of his kind knowing about this. I trust you with my life Luu.” As we were going back, I pleaded with Lucas to not tell anyone about what is going on with me, I trust him but this is shocking he might not be able to keep it to himself and end up telling his wife.

“Not even your wife Lucas please." I begged him. I can’t afford to have anyone know about this or Anna’s life will be in danger and I just can't lose her, I just met her.

“I wouldn’t trade you for the world you know that right. Just think about all this with a calm mind and decide on the way forward, but remember keeping on seeing her is not a good idea.” Lucas advice genuinely worried about me, I could see the worry on his face, I felt like he wanted to tell me something but at the same time didn’t want to.

“What time is she coming tomorrow, I want to see this woman who’s driving you crazy." Lucas asked curiosity was killing him I could tell from his expression. Maybe it’s because I have tons of wolf Omegas who want me, who throws themselves at me but I don’t even look at them twice. Yes their scent isn’t enticing like that woman’s. I didn’t even get her name.

“I don’t know if she’ll come, I’ll spend the whole day there just in case she does come, you can just come and check when you’re free from your pregnant nagging wife.“ I suggested, Yes my friend over here is in it for a bumpy road, his wife has been acting like a little baby since she got pregnant, I don’t wish to be him at all. Always accused of all types of bad things shame I feel sorry for him. That can never be me.

“Okay Bro, let me go back home before Mariah starts to think that I’m indeed cheating on her. She always accuses me of all kinds of bad things“ Lucas complained and I laughed at him. He raised a middle finger at me and left and once again I was all alone, I should make new friends or even better find myself a cute omega wolf. I’m sure there are plenty of them, I just need to look.

I sighed laying down on the grass closing my eyes and there she was roaming in my head, her beautiful smile that made my heart beat out of my ribcage yesterday. Ah she’s so beautiful but this is wrong. I can’t be entangled with human beings. My pack won’t like that one bit. Later I’ll tell her to never come see me again. Hopefully she comes so that I can end this me and her situation as soon as possible before it's too late.

A human and a wolf can't be together, it is not a good idea nor will our wolf community accept it. I should end this before it's too late. I hope Anna will understand and not hate me.

Will she understand though? She seem like someone who has given up on life, what will happen to her if I cut her off? What If she ends up killing herself and I never see her again? I can't afford that? Yes I like her scent and I'd like to inhale it for as long as I can be with her but this place is dangerous for her.

What do I do? Oh Lord help me my head is about to explode to all this thinking. I should head to our meeting place I'm sure she's on her way if she's coming today. And indeed she came I couldn't even look her in the eyes it was hurting me to say what I was about to say to her but I had to.

"Anna please don't come here hoping you'll find me from tomorrow moving forward. I won't be coming here anymore and it will be wise if you don't too as this forest is very dangerous for you"

The smile on Anna's face instantly faded as she looked at me hurt by my words, I could tell she is but I have to do this.
