Chapter 2: The Dream

613 Words
I woke up in the forest. Looking all around, I couldn't see any signs of the town or any animal life. "Hello?" I called out looking around I got no response. I started walking looking around at the beautiful scenery. I kept walking straight forward and it seemed to become brighter. There was less tree cover, then out of nowhere a breeze hits me, and I feel an unusual fabric hit my skin. I looked down to see a beautiful dark green strapless silk mid-thigh dress. My hair is wavy to my mid back, on top of my head was a white flower crown. I am astonished at the gorgeous outfit I am in. But where did it come from? So I kept walking around hoping I would find the answers. After a good ten minutes, I stumbled upon a clearing. It was breathtaking, all along the edge are pure white roses, with light purple and light green hydrangeas. Walking into the clearing I looked at the flowers and I noticed that the rose bushes had no thorns. So I started gently picked a few of all the flowers making a bouquet, while I was choosing the flowers I noticed a small white ribbon. I ent the flowers down and rapped the flowers together. Standing up I was startled to not to be alone. There was a man with his back to me. He had dirty blond hair that looks a bit long, and he looked like he was in an old military uniform. When looking at this man for some reason there was a strange pull, like it was an invisible force coming from this stranger. All I wanted to do was to go up to him and let him hold me. But when I tried to walk towards him, it was like my feet were cemented to the ground. I tried speaking to him instead. "Hello, sir? Can you tell me where I am?" I attempted to move towards him once again, with no such luck. He answered me with a thick Southern accent. "I can't be entirely sure Mam." Something about him seemed so familiar. He finally turned around, he was in an old time military uniform from the South. If I'm not wrong he is highly ranked as major. Sadly I was unable to see his face, it was blurry, but there was something strange about him it was like he was actually glowing. Slowly he walked towards me, with every step he took towards me. The pull strengthened and the space between us was unbearable, I needed this man closer to me. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity he was right in front of me, he put his hand right next to my shoulder, not touching but hovering over my skin. "May I?" he asked in nothing but a gentle whisper, the strings in my heart were given a good firm tug. I nodded without any sudden movements, or it would have broken the quiet hum that surrounded us. He slowly placed his hand on my shoulder as soon as his skin touched mine, it was like there was like electricity running through my body. It was calming, I felt safe with this stranger. We both sighed in content. He walked around me his hand never leaving my skin. I clutched the flowers in my hand. As his hand trailed along my skin, sending sparks down a trail where he touched me. It was driving me insane that I wasn't able to move. I let out a small sigh of content. He opened his mouth to say something went I was startled awake because of my alarm.
