Chapter 3 Aurora always had her best friend come over and sit in on her sessions when she had a male model. Georgianna was a plain girl, but she had good taste. She was the only person that Aurora trusted with her true feelings. Her three younger sisters, Colette, Lydia and Beatrice were frivolous and silly and her oldest sister, Jennifer was already married. Her mama wanted her to marry her rich, distant cousin, Lord Benjamin Alfred Faunteroy. Cousin Benny was absolutely redundant. He was as ridiculous as his name sounded. And she would never marry for money, she preferred to marry for love. Unfortunately, she hadn’t found it yet. Charline pressed Aurora to attend the gala dinner this up coming weekend. And she insisted that she come in formal attire. Charline clung to her until she relented. She left Charline’s office and finally stepped out into the sunshine and headed down passed the Abbey, to the Mayfair Marketplace. She wanted to buy some things. She had remembered to bring her list: fruit, veggies, nuts, seeds, cheese, almond milk, crackers, raspberry jam, teabags, honey, French bread, mango slices and watermelon slices. She paid for her groceries and made her way back up through town. It was such a lovely day. Finally she made it back to her tiny cottage. She let herself into the gate, hurried inside and closed the door behind her. She dropped the keys into the bowl on the side table by the door and set the groceries down in the kitchen. She took off her shoes and put on her fuzzy slippers. Then she put away the groceries in her tiny pantry. She put the kettle on and set out a plate for herself. She chose a teacup and saucer to match and a spoon. Then she cut a few slices of French bread, cheese, crackers raspberry jam, and some apple slices with peanut butter and placed them on the plate for her lunch. The kettle whistled on the stove and she turned it off and poured the steaming hot water into her teacup. The teabag swirled around a few times. Then she put the kettle back on the stove. She added a teaspoon of honey and then she stirred in a cinnamon stick. She took it outside and sat herself down at the little table on the back porch and enjoyed her tea and lunch and especially the rest of the afternoon sunshine.
