Georgie patted Aurora’s shoulder. “I don’t know what to tell you, Dearie. It doesn’t sound as bad as you think.” She said. Aurora looked at her friend. “You don’t mean that.” She stated flatly. “Yes, I do.” Georgie said with more conviction than she felt.
Aurora looked Georgie in the eyes to see if she was telling the truth. She believed her. Georgie rubbed her back as they finished their tea. Aurora felt better. She apologized for interrupting their evening. Then she went home and Georgie went back to bed.
When she got home, she fed Gracie and emptied the litter box. She washed her hands and washed the makeup off her face and changed into her lace night gown. Will gave up for the night, but the next morning he tried the office and he was told by Charline that he should just give up, because a woman like Aurora wasn’t easy to chase after.
Aurora started her morning routine. Then she went into the studio to finish the portrait she was working on. She dreaded finding the next client to work with.
Charline wanted another male portrait. She knew that Georgie wouldn’t mind sitting in on the photo session. She was always a good sport and she never asked questions about why she needed a chaperone for the sessions.
Will tried to keep his mind off of Aurora. He had enjoyed the dinner and loved getting to know her in the gardens. He sent flowers to her work and to her home. He also invited her on another date to the movies.
Weeks and months went by with no response. Soon Cousin Benny and Georgianna had their wedding in late June. Georgie had invited Mr. Collins to take pictures and write an article in the Wembley Observer about their wedding. He said that he would be honored, he hoped to do the couple justice by having their wedding photographed.
Will asked Aurora to dance and she said that she would. Will couldn’t take his eyes off of Aurora. Georgie had asked her to be the maid of honor. She had her hair french braided on either side and braided down the back. Small white rose buds were placed in her hair. She wore a pale pink chiffon dress.
Aurora and Will danced together. From the moment that their hands touched it seemed like a dream. When the song ended Aurora blushed, she excused herself and went to the ladies room. This time he didn’t follow her. He couldn’t tell if she felt the same way.
She stayed next to Georgie for the remainder of the day. Aurora had mixed feelings. She brooded but said nothing. She was happy for Georgie and Cousin Benny.
