Cousin Benny and now Cousin Georgie were off on their honey moon. Cousin Benny took Georgie on a trip around Europe and they would be gone for 2 months. Aurora finished her portrait and hired an assistant to helped her schedule some photo shoots with some males from the agency. She stayed busy for the whole two months that they were gone.
She worked on her portraits day and night. Will was never far from her mind. Her assistant, Marjorie often brought her out of her brooding. She would thank her and continue on with her work. Marjorie never asked, but she had been in love enough to know what pining was.
The London Deluxe Agency was pleased that she needed so many models. Georgie called Aurora every weekend to checkin. Aurora kept a chipper voice so Georgie wouldn’t notice. Aurora was glad she hadn’t noticed how melancholic she was. She was probably too busy.
They first went to Paris, France, then Rome, then Amsterdam, then Prague, then Budapest, Barcelona, Venice, Berlin, Florence, Vienna, Santorini, Lisbon, Athens, Dubrovnik, Italy, Istanbul, and Brussels. They stayed a couple days in each place. Georgie was relieved when they came back and settled down.
Georgie didn’t feel well. She was sick a lot of the time and some of the trip back. She thought she could have just eaten something that dian’t agree with her or maybe just some food poisoning. Benny’s mother knew all too well what was ailing her daughter-in-law.
She smiled knowingly to herself and ordered their maid to wait on her hand and foot and to have a ready supply of towels, wash cloths, crackers, ginger ale, and whatever she might need. Georgie was grateful that Mrs. Faunteroy hadn’t been the smothering type, but she was kind enough to check on her periodically.
Aurora visited often and she brought fresh flowers to cheer her up. She hoped that Georgie would feel better soon. After about a month Georgie recovered from her sudden illness. She visited Aurora and was amazed at the many photographs she had taken and collected on her cork board. “You took all of these?” Georgie asked. “They’re good.”
“Yes.” Aurora said. She stared out the window while Georgie admired her photographs. “Ms. Kensington.” Marjorie tried to bring her back from her brooding. Georgie touched Aurora’s arm. “Are you Ok?” Georgie asked pointedly. “Yes, why ever not?” Aurora said it with more confidence than she felt.
