TWENTY-FIVE THE NEXT MORNING, she woke alone. With so much going on, it wasn’t a surprise Daire wanted to train and prepare, to reconnect with his men and hopefully undo any damage done by his feigned betrayal. Knowing she’d likely get in the way, she took her time in the shower and getting ready. Navigating her way down to the family room they’d been in the previous night, it was a relief to see Zara there with Styx. “Wow, I really thought I’d get lost,” she joked.
