I couldn’t speak. Not immediately. Mama’s announcement echoed in my mind like a bell struck too hard. My thoughts turned blank as I stared at them—Mama glowing with excitement, Tito smiling proudly, Andy frozen beside me. What am I supposed to say? I glanced at Andy, silently begging for help. He caught my eyes and gave a small, steady nod. That tiny gesture—he’s with me—was the only thing keeping me from collapsing. Andy cleared his throat, his voice calm but firm. “Dad… don’t you think this is too soon? Maybe you should reconsider.” Tito’s brow shot up. “Too soon? Andy, we’ve been planning this for months. There’s no reason to delay—unless…” His gaze shifted toward me. “…unless Cecil isn’t ready for this. Then, that’s another matter entirely.” Every pair of eyes turned toward me.
