The kitchen ran straight into the living space, all crammed into a single square room with a battered sofa and a wobbly table. A stubby wood-burner sat in the corner, kettle balanced on top. But it was the shelves that caught my eye first. They lined every wall, not with family photos or old paperbacks, but with tech. Stacks of it, everywhere you looked.
