Chapter Three The briefing room was full when Jay walked in. Aviary’s laptop sat in the center of the table, playing a video advertisement. A small microchip sparkled onscreen, then cut to footage of two children playing in the grass with their dog. The advertisement said: Keep your family safe. Wherever they are. Olesya stood at the head of the table, looking over at Gleb as he rifled through a stack of papers. Ark was there too, leaning against the wall with arms folded and fingers tapping. They looked a hell of a lot more rested than Jay felt. At best, he’d managed a few hours of broken sleep.
