When Danny spilled out of bed, the coverlet came with him. He ripped it from his back, and when he did, the memory of everything he’d done with Guy came screaming into consciousness...followed by everything that had happened earlier: Laura’s dress covered in hearts, the matching tie she’d given him as a gift, their Valentine’s Day dinner, barging in on Nanette, coming out in the car, the bruise on her wrist, “Say goodbye to your daughter...”
By the time he’d opened his bedroom door, the lights were on in the hallway and Miku was racing past Sean. They were both in their underwear, which wasn’t an unusual sight, but Danny found himself standing in the hallway, saying, “Would you two put on some clothes, please?”
