BRIANNA’S POV
The moment the doctor injected my mother, something snapped inside me. I had been standing beside the bed, watching her pale face. She was just about to say something. But as soon as the needle pierced her skin, her eyelids fluttered—and then she was gone again, lost to unconsciousness.
“Why did you do that?” I demanded,. I turned to the doctor with anger. “She just woke up! She was conscious! Why would you put her back to sleep?”
The doctor adjusted his glasses calmly “Her blood pressure was too high. If she became agitated, it could have put her in danger.”
I didn’t believe him. I took a step forward “That’s bullshit! She was fine! She was scared, but she was fine!”
