Brianna’s POV The underground halls started to shake and crumble. My father leaned heavily on me. his breathing was heavy but his grip on my arm was tight. Too tight. He was hanging on because I was all he had left to hang on to. “We’re almost there,” I whispered. “Just a little more, Dad. Don’t stop.” The echo of enemy boots in the tunnel behind us sent chills down my spine. The metal doors ahead—our only exit—were barely in view, and the flickering overhead lights made it a bit hard to focus. Suddenly, the emergency shaft door burst open. “Brianna!” Trevor’s voice.
