Serena's eyes darted toward me the second Anthony introduced me as their mate, and I saw it—the shock that she tried to hide behind that forced smile. It was the kind of smile that made my skin crawl, too perfect, too rehearsed, and completely fake.
“That's lovely" she said, turning to me with a smile "I’m Serena, Lola’s best friend. She invited me to stay for the holidays.”
