I'm frozen in shock, staring up at him. His expression is playful, but I can feel how tense he is, and it sets me on edge. "What are you doing here?" I rush out, breathless all of a sudden. He slowly unwraps his arms from around me, and steps back to let me continue walking towards my locker. "You really should watch where you are going," Jackson says, mocking me. "Well, excuse me for not expecting my roommate to be in my way at work." I say casually, emptying my locker. I feel Jackson come up close behind me, so close that his body is mere inches from touching me. I freeze my movements, feeling his hand pulling my hair away from one side of my neck, moving it all to the other. He leans in slowly, trailing his nose against my skin, and I forget how to breathe.
