"Morning, Char. Coffee?" Danny says, glancing at me as I walk into the kitchen. "Hmm, yes please." I enthusiastically nod, before jumping to sit on the countertop next to him. He smiles at me, shaking his head before going back to making the coffee. He hums quietly to the radio playing in the background, and I find myself relaxing at the sound. A sudden solemn feeling wedges itself inside me. I hadn't spent much time around Danny recently, and I didn't notice how much I missed his company. I mean sure we live together and see each other all the time, but it's different to how it used to be. Our movie nights and coffee 'dates' at Daisies seemed to stop as soon as Jackson and I started seeing each other, and the saddest thing is that I hadn't even noticed how distant I had been until now.
