Chapter 7

1245 Words
In the quiet night, the deserted campus was devoid of the noise from daytime. In the silent darkness, Skyler walked towards the dormitory, holding a thick stack of piano sheet music. She kept turning her stiff neck. It was late at night again. Why did time seem to pass so quickly recently? "Back already?" As the dormitory door opened, Skyler's figure finally appeared. Wendy stood up, frowning as she looked at the increasingly thin Skyler, asking with concern. After entering the room, Skyler simply nodded, too exhausted to speak. She just wanted to lie down and sleep. And that's exactly what she did, prompting Wendy to scream. "Go take a shower and eat something. Ah Chen brought supper for you. Also... your fingers, the bandages need to be changed." Wendy spoke while forcefully pulling Skyler up. Wendy hurriedly brought her supper and carefully inspected her fingers, which were already unbearable to look at. It was truly baffling how Skyler, with such a frail body, possessed such determination. "Wow, be gentle. It hurts," Skyler cried out in pain as soon as Wendy applied a little force. Her cry only earned her a fierce glare from Wendy. "Now you know it hurts? Why didn't you say it hurt when you were playing the piano? It's been two weeks. Look at what you've done to your fingers. You don't even understand the piano. How could you play 'Blue Love' well? Eleasya has been learning the piano for over ten years!" "Hehe, you don't know, huh?" Skyler took a sip of soup and playfully winked at Wendy. She said happily, "It's almost ready. I plan to let Jason listen to it tomorrow. Let him know that Eleasya's 'Blue Love' can still be found in the music classroom in California, and tell him not to give up any hope." "Is it true or not? It's only been half a month. I bet with Achen that it would take you at least two or three months," Wendy couldn't believe it. This girl is really clueless about certain things, especially when it comes to Jason's recent hot and cold behavior. Everyone can see that Jason only treats her as Eleasya, occasionally smiling at her and then quickly restraining his smile. But she can still be happy for half a day, making Achen so angry that he wants to vomit blood, but he is powerless and can only send her supper with love every day, hoping to slowly break down her barriers and give up the love that doesn't belong to her. Besides Skyler, who is as clueless as this, even a fool can feel such intense protection. "Well, um, do you think Jason will be happy again after hearing this song tomorrow?" Skyler was still lost in her thoughts. "He will, he will. If not, Achen will beat him up." He better! Not to mention Achen, even Wendy herself won't let him off easily. "That's good then..." as if she had already received confirmation, Skyler grinned, carefree and innocent. That night, Skyler slept soundly, even smiling in her dreams. Until the next morning, when four or five alarm clocks rang simultaneously, Wendy was startled awake. What the heck, when did they have so many alarm clocks in their dorm? With sleepy eyes, Wendy still couldn't figure out what was going on. She could only look around and finally saw Skyler in pink standing by the window. At this moment, Skyler gently pushed open the window, with a slight smile on her lips, earnestly staring at the ivy on the opposite wall, greedily inhaling the morning sun mixed with the scent of grass. "Skyler..." "Well, um..." Before Wendy could speak, Skyler suddenly said, "I have to go now, remember to get up quickly and help me find Jason in the classroom." Seeing her determined look, Wendy could only smile and uncover the blanket. "Skyler, go for it! You will definitely succeed!" Skyler nodded vigorously, grabbed her backpack, turned around, and walked out of the dormitory towards the music classroom. Yes, she must succeed, because she has the support of Achen and Nana, and because of the agreement three years ago! "I'll be here, waiting for you." How could she give up before seeing Joshua again? Soon, the scene that appeared in front of the music classroom was embarrassing. Along the long stairs, Chris stood against the wall in front, while Wendy stared fiercely from behind, leaving Jason trapped in the middle, unable to advance or retreat. He couldn't understand what they were trying to do. He frowned impatiently, not because he disliked Skyler's sudden invitation, but because he didn't like being controlled by others. Just as he was about to turn around and leave, a melodious piano sound suddenly drifted into his ears, unexpectedly hitting his heart. He couldn't have misheard this familiar melody. How many afternoons had he spent with Eleasya, closing his eyes and listening to her play it over and over again? She said, "Love in blue, melancholy love, just like us..." Without hesitation, he couldn't help but lift his foot and walk towards the music classroom in front of him. Wendy wanted to follow, but Chris suddenly pulled her back. There was a moment of struggle in his eyes, but in the end, he reluctantly said, "Don't be a third wheel, accompany me to buy breakfast, I'm hungry." In that instant, it seemed like nothing behind him could disturb Jason. He gritted his teeth and gently pushed open the door of the music classroom, his eyes filled with fear, anticipation, and caution, afraid that everything would disappear like foam once the door opened. In the end, he gathered his courage and walked in. The sunlight spilled gently through the floor-to-ceiling windows, and a pink figure stood in front of the piano, her head bowed, playing smooth notes flowing from her slender fingertips. It was Eleasya! Only Eleasya could interpret this piece of music to such a heart-wrenching extent. Step by step, Jason approached the piano as quietly as possible, as if afraid of disturbing the pianist. After watching for a long time, he suddenly reached out and pulled her up, stunned for a moment. Ignoring Skyler's innocent and frightened eyes, he slowly lowered his head... Their gentle kiss fell like a dragonfly touching the water, soft and moist, landing perfectly on Skyler's lips. It was still sweet, still tender. Jason closed his eyes, and in his ears, he heard Eleasya's coquettish voice from the past: "When Jason is asleep, I like to secretly kiss him, because his lips are so soft and smooth." The whirlpool of memories gradually engulfed him, making it impossible for him to think. A smile appeared at the corner of his mouth as he silently said: Eleasya, don't leave again... In an instant, Skyler blushed and became speechless, blinking innocently at Jason. This was the first time he had kissed her. At such a close distance, she could even hear her own panicked and fearful breath clearly, but she couldn't focus on experiencing the taste of this kiss. Skyler didn't want to close her eyes. She wanted to look, to see this boy who had been separated from her for three years, finally so close to her again, capturing every moment of him with her eyes, gradually becoming infatuated with the smile on his lips that resembled the past. It was this smile that made her lose all hope, with no way to turn back...
