I walked out of the house, leaving it up to the brothers if they wanted to follow or not.
Hunter came up behind me, and I was surprised when Jake joined us too. “You want to come?” I asked Jake.
“Of course, can’t let the big bad wolves hurt my girl, can I?” He teased.
“Pfft, can you even fight? Or will you just f**k your way out of it?”
Hunter laughed at that, making us both look at him, well, Jake glared, actually. He snapped at me, “I can fight.”
It surprised me how angry my words made him feel, it was rare to ever see Jake angry.
“I’m sorry, I was only teasing,” I said and touched his arm lightly. Jake shrugged me off and Hunter stepped beside him, “brother, calm down, you know Destiny didn’t mean it.”
