Alpha Liam’s POV
I didn't get a wink of sleep last night. The lamp in my room burned until the oil nearly ran out.
My mind refused to rest because of Jane. I knew she didn't do it. I knew she was set up by Aria. Yet there wasn't concrete proof to defend my claim.
Her face kept appearing in my thoughts, wrestling with my reasoning.
Her trembling voice kept ringing in my ears.
‘I didn’t steal anything,’ she repeated over and over again. But what did I do? I walked out.
To be honest, I didn't run away. I just wanted to give them the chance to settle it among themselves. Josephine was there, so I trusted her to do justice without my involvement.
But I was wrong.
I shouldn't have left Jane there. I should have dragged her out with me. I should have told her I believed her.
