Jane’s POV By the time we finally stopped walking, my legs were numb. It felt like they were made of stone. I had followed Kael, Ronan, and Mira through the forest for what felt like hours. The deeper we went, the quieter the woods became, until even the wind seemed careful not to disturb whatever lived there. I had stopped asking where we were going after the first few attempts. “Almost there,” Ronan had said seven times already.
