"You healed right in front of us," I spat.
She froze for a few seconds as if she was trying to process what she heard. Then her hand instinctively moved, trying to reach her back.
But she couldn’t.
“I…” she started, her voice faltering. “I don’t know.”
Of course, she didn't know because that was always her answer. It was always confusion, ignorance and innocence.
“I don’t know,” I mocked coldly.
“It’s the truth!” she insisted.
“It's better you come clean while I'm still being nice,” I warned.
“I don't know what you're talking about,” she said.
